Stop engaging with something I don’t like kitty-cri-texas

Tbh it weirds me out seeing people like this doofus doing diagetic essentialism and getting hoppin’ mad because Bethesda made power armour an exoskeleton with swappable plates, or because they put a place in L.A. in the wrong place on the map. This here is the “final straw” for Fallout? Buddy, in 2008 Bethesda morphed Fallout from a black comedy about the failings of cold war western societies into a nostalgic nuclear-age circlejerk, it’s been joever for Fallout for at least fifteen years.

You can pinpoint the second when gaming slid into irreversible decline with the release of Oblivion with Guns.

I think its fate was sealed maybe by Horse Armour and Oblivion as well, a lot of things contributed, the rise of always online games in the 90s(SSI Neverwinter Nights), but Fallout 3 is definitely emblematic lol

Oh this is just me shitting on FO3. My real answer would be the release of Halo 1, which saved the Xbox, doomed the Dreamcast, brought em-dollar sign to gaming, and marked the migration of dudebros into gaming.

Noooooooo Combat Evolved my beloved :(

I think gaming was always a dudebro hobby though, sure Microsoft’s irritating marketing made it worse, but stuff like Interplay’s terrible 1999 advertising goes to show it was already that way for a long time. The launch Saturn ad with the screencaps covering the lady’s bits?
