Yeah I don’t know, could also be a Berkley’s polypore. The coloring and the fact that it’s just on the ground is throwing me off, but there could be wood or a root system that it’s on that we can’t see.
I’m not good at this, but going solely off a photo and location it has a pretty good chance of being one of those two.
