I was the guy building linux systems from the trash in 1999. And then complicated distributed systems for fun. Now I want to leave everything at defaults, or just turn on dark mode and be done with it.

Working in tech has ruined tech for me. Hopefully not forever…

Noise. I want to go quiet places and do quiet things. When I was older I loved dancing on tables in nightclubs now I just want silence

Capitalism and people that say they would be in the “political center” or “unpolitical”.

Yes, let’s always be on the extremes. Yes No, Left Right, Up Down, Good Evil. Having no middle ground is amazing. It’s done wonders for the US.

No they don’t, but your mind has been infested. It’s been infected to believe that there is no middle ground. That if I’m not with you, I’m against you. That there is no center, because the center means being right-wing. If you see the center as an enemy, you have already given into the USAian mindset.

I invite you to consume less USAian media, go outside, touch grass, talk to people who have differing opinions that you do, try and ask them why and how they came to their conclusions, ask them where they come from. I would even encourage you to join a political party of your choosing and try to see how consensus is formed within it. You might come to realise that world isn’t black and white.

The problem is when those people with differing opinions want to see me in an asylum for daring to not fit into their narrow view of gender roles and sexualities.

I don’t know in which utopian country you live but in mine the centrist parties adopt more and more policies of a party that would stand close before being banned if they didn’t get a fifth of the votes in the last election meaning that the vote to ban them will now get delayed until the fascists are in power.

There are nazis that call themselves left because they have the word “socialist” in their name. Pepe was used by nazis and the news focused on that despite it being used for nothing related to right-wing shit for ages before. I could claim I’m a cat and that the trees are blue. J.K Rowling can claim she’s a feminist.

Making arguments as if there is no middle ground, no center, no gray, no middle, is an absolutist, USAian perspective.

In the US progressives are as far left as you get.

Almost anywhere else in the world US progressives would be centrists.

So you’re right, the US being so far right wing is really problematic.

candy, though i think it’s more that i’ve gotten better at eating healthy as time goes on.

but man, i just don’t really find most candy appealing anymore, why would i eat candy when i could instead eat the same calories worth of schnitzel?
