But which version? Or are they going to also release different versions to different people, like they did with different cinemas?

If there are 3 different jokes in 20 different areas, technically they can almost create a unique signature for over a billion digital copies making it easy to trace if you pirated your version of the movie.

      Did you pirate that movie?

      Yeah, so what?

Aren’t you afraid someone will find out?

      You just did, so what?

Really though, I imagine video rippers have figured that out, they 100% compare files ripped from different accounts and regions to remove any residue data which could potentially identify them.

I’m fairly certain the different versions were because they were still making edits to the movie all the way up to release and some theaters got different versions as they went out. It wasn’t so much a feature as a colossal red flag to never work for Sony Animation.

Which region are you in ? It’s not on US D+.

It’s also not a Disney production but by Sony. I feel on the US it will most likely come to Netflix first before D+ but not sure if contracts have changed.

Not in the U.S. But I believe it will be eventually.

In the U.S., all of the Spider-Man content is supposed to go to Disney+ after others get first usage.

It’s produced by Sony and Marvel, because Spider-Man, despite being a Marvel character, is a Sony intellectual property at the moment.

I decided to post it here since it’s all Marvel universe related anyway.

What a terrible marketing this movie had. Honestly had no idea it was released in theaters already, and I was waiting for it. Apparently it’s been out like a month and a half. No wonder it hasn’t done nearly as well as expected, it’s like Sony forgot about it and didn’t market it, I haven’t seen a single poster or ad in my city.

Also why did this movie cost $100,000,000 to make???

Were you just asleep for the months leading up to this movie? The hype was ridiculous.

It’s the second highest grossing movie of the summer at $380 mil in the US so far. It has already grossed almost twice of what the original made. Plus it’s something like the 28th highest grossing animated movie of all time. How well were you expecting it to do?
