I made a post previously about this issue but I wanted to do an update of sorts and see if there is anything new I can do.

Basically about a month ago I got banned off the platform. I do not know why, and they never gave me a reason, no matter how many times I contacted Reddit support, and all appeals were rejected. I can only assume that someone in my apartment got banned and it picked me up too since we share an IP or something. I have since made a few dozen accounts in attempt to dodge this ban and nothing works.

I have gone as far as booting up an old laptop which I haven’t used in 3 years, downloading a virtual machine and running Xubuntu through it, connecting to a VPN on both the laptop and the virtual machine, opening up Reddit in Firefox’s incognito mode, making a new account through a Tempmail email, and waiting 2 days before commenting on a post to make sure I didn’t get flagged as a bot.

Lo and behold, the second I posted that comment, my avatar in the top right disappeared, the page kept telling me I had a server error, and when I looked at my account in another browser, at had told me it had been suspended.

Quite honestly I can’t think of a single other thing I could do. Even after all of those steps taken, Reddit was instantaneously able to track me right back to my other accounts. Is there literally anything I can possibly do to ever post on this platform again?

Sorry this happened to you. The Reddit we loved is evidently being intentionally reduced to yet another reactionary / fascist echo chamber, like Xitter.

I don’t know if Reddit’s board are just enthusiastic regime toadies, or if the regime has leverage over CEO u/spez Huffman in connection with his tenure as r/Jailbait mod. Either way, it’s not going back, so fediverse is the way forward.

“this guy is trying too hard, must be a banned user”

Try to find some Lan House (there should still be a couple of them around) and make an account from there.

It is probably more your OS fingerprint. Use a useragent switcher and see if that helps.

At some point though you have to wonder if that is even worth it. Best of luck!

    For mobile:

Use a VPN (different from the one if currently using)

    Get a new phone

Switch from Google to Apple or vice versa (all accounts)

Write and post in a different writing style

Visit very few of the same subs from previous accounts

    Get a new ISP

Do you live in the European Union? If so, you should have access to an effective internal complaints system and the ability to appeal to an independent arbitrator.

No I’m in the US. I’ve sent in an email to Reddit support asking why my original account got banned. Is there anything perhaps in the US similar to what you mentioned that could help even get me unbanned?

Oh I’m from the US too. I was banned for supposedly inciting violence. Absolute horseshit.
