A few people have been engaging with me on this the past few days, so figured id give some updates on what ive been fucking with.

Been using my Retroid 5 with Citron, Yuzu, and KenjiNX. Using latest prod keys and firmware across all.

Citron - seems like nothing will boot, just get a black screen.

Yuzu - GREAT so far, Smash Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 run flawlessly, and I tried Super Mario 3D World just now and had a freeze in the first level, but the framerate was smooth. No tinkering needed in any of these titles.

KenjiNX - looks like a new fork of Ryujinx, have not played with it yet but will try Mario World on it once set up later.

There’s one more emulator i have installed that starts with an S, just grabbed it in a rush before taking the pups out, so ill be able to post more findings later!

Update - still getting SMW freezes despite fluid gameplay, will be looking into new graphics drivers per a user below. Also grabbed Ryujinx and DK Tropical Freeze, and DKTF runs almost perfect minus some background graphics pop-up issues. Nothing that affects the gameplay, and its brief.

Update 2 - Turnip drivers seem like they fixed SMW freezes!

How big are switch roms, and where to source?

I’ve been expanding my roms library in advance of my rp5 arriving, went thru Dreamcast, GameCube, and PSP on Vimms but I’ve run out of local storage space before I even got to PS2 stalin-stressed

Have you converted all Dreamcast and PSP roms to chd files? That should be decent storage savings. GC roms should also be rvzs to save more space.

Feel free to ask if you don’t know how

Depends on the game. Some are 2 or 3gb, some are up to 15 (thats the highest ive seen). Youre gonna love the retroid, it’s handled anything ive thrown at it super well, and what it can’t handle is more because “this game can’t be emulated well at all” rather than “u need more ram or whatever.”

Yuzu with the Turnip drivers seems to have eliminated my SMW Crashes, just got through 3 levels in a sitting with no issues. Downloading that new Prince of Persia game now cause that shit looked dope when it came out and i haven’t gotten to it on pc yet.

Romsfun.me and NSWPedia have been my go-tos, but theres a lot of sites out there. Honestly just googling switch roms has been good enough for me so far. Most sites look like they have all dlc and latest game updates too so its pretty rad. Good scene.
