I know we all want to dunk on him, but finger is off the trigger - hes using it as a monocular, with no intention to fire. It’s a lot more comfortable to lift the gun up to peer at something in the distance like binoculars, than it is to scrunch your neck down to the correct firing position in the shoulder just to have a peek.
It’s not the guy, it’s the ACOG setup. The movie went out of its way to mount an ACOG so far forward it would be impossible to see through. With just the hardware in the image, the ACOG could have attached straight to the carry handle.
Finally, a sextant used properly, as the Founding Fathers intended.
I know they’re just actors, but have they not seen anyone shoot any sort of long gun?! OTOH, I’ve taught a few women to shoot and they initially hold a rifle exactly like that. I didn’t get into shooting until I was 50, but the stance shown seems wildly unintuitive.
When you say stance are you talking about the rifle’s butt stock being so far above the shoulder pocket?

Anyway it’s called short stocking, and it’s actively used in cqb stuff because it chops off inches of barrel length without being a shorter barreled rifle. Anyone who’s cleared blocks in Ramadi, Fallujah, Marjah, or wherever can attest that shorter is better.
Also the old interceptor ibv’s kind of required you to shoulder your rifle like this from what I’ve heard. I had the unfortunate pleasure of rocking the mtv though.
