Jeremy Corbyn has hinted he could launch a political party alongside other leftwing independent MPs in an attempt to offer “an alternative” to Labour, before the next general election.
Speaking on ITV’s Peston programme, the former Labour leader confirmed discussions were under way among the Independent Alliance group of MPs that he co-founded last year.
Asked directly whether they were preparing to form a new party, Corbyn did not rule it out. “That grouping [of independents] will come together, there will be an alternative,” he said.
It’s a shame. Labour’s in the best position it has been to make real change for the first time this century, and it’s doing its old thing of tearing itself apart.
Last time when they were in a similar position they brought up Tony Blair who was like Margaret Thatcher just with more wars, this time they have Kid Starver genocide lover, it’s almost like Labour is purposefully made to channel their votes straight info fascism.

Asking as a person of USA extraction, are you able to comment on the reasons behind the dissatisfaction with Labour that prompt desire for a leftier party?
I am specifically curious if Labor has become a managed opposition akin to Democrats. It wouldn’t surprise me, politics being a global sport, but would appreciate a boots on the ground perspective. That is if you feel up to it.
This is a global fight. If we are going to tax billionaires into non-existence we can leave them nowhere to run. That’s what motivates my curiosity.
They have. They’ve become less left wing with each of their governments. It’s interesting cause it seems to be happening with ‘social democratic’ parties is multiple western democracies. The German SPD is also now practically a centrist party afaik.
