    July 23, 2025

    • Brush: Wald Nimbus Chryselephantine 29mm A1 Fan
    • Razor: CMON Special 5/8 Hollow Ground Square Point
    • Lather: Ariana & Evans - Daniele Maullu Legacy - Soap
    • Toner: Thayers - Cucumber - Toner
    • Aftershave: Ariana & Evans - Daniele Maullu Legacy - Aftershave
    • Fragrance: Creed - Royal Oud
    • Talc: Yardley Gold

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This was my second use of this exact setup. I paid a little more attention to lather quality and to the scent personality this time around. I was struck by this being a woody, heavier scent and not the lighter, citrusy scents that I associate with Italian themed fragrances. Nonetheless, I like it a lot. It is definitely an all-rounder for me.

Today’s shave was a shave test with a newly-honed C-MON Special owned by u/coco_for_cocoapuffs. Great little razor that gave me a very close comfortable shave.

    Wed 23 Jul 2025

    • Brush: Boti Laminate brush with motherlode knot
    • Razor: Gillette Ball-End Tech
    • Blade: Feather new Hi-Stainless
    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles – Florentine Fern
    • Post Shave: Speick – Men Active
      • Fragrance: Atelier Rebul – 1895

We went to visit Atelier Rebul and we picked up 1895 and Bosphorus. This one, 1895, opens like a classic citrussy cologne, but turns more earthy and woody. It reminds me a bit of D.R.Harris Marlborough.

    • Blade: Accuforge GEM Microcoat (8)
    • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Lavanille - Soap

An excellent complementary non-dickhole shave this morning. Omnibus is a great base.

I’m pretty sure this morning’s shave solidified the MMOC as razor of choice for my upcoming trip and, by extension, AA. It’s an awesome little razor.

    July 23rd, 2025: Shave

    • Brush: Wolf Whiskers - “Gianmaria” w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
    • Razor: Gillette Super Adjustable
    • Blade: Bolzano Superinox (German) (1)
    • Lather: London Razors, Summer Break Soaps - Mountain Laurel - Soap
    • Post Shave: London Razors - Mountain Laurel - Aftershave
    • Post Shave: Dove - Men+Care Ultra-Hydra - Cream
    • Fragrance: G. Bellini - Homme

Today is my birthday, so I used my birth-quarter razor. It’s not my favorite razor, but it’ll do. Setting #3 works well for me, but since I use it so infrequently I figured I’d try setting 9 on the last pass. I don’t think it adds any efficiency, but I did get a couple of very minor weepers, so it adds to blade feel. I already knew, but aggressive razors are not for me (straight razors seem to be an exception to this rule).
