They used to be. Even subreddit bans were temporary, something like a month, but then something changed and by now pretty much all bans are permament. My last ban was also permament from /r/gaming for a comment that said “seeing 100 DLCs inspires piracy” (this was reference to massive list of Sims3 DLCs).
Tbh I don’t think you should let insanity deter you from the podcast plan. That hasn’t stopped lots of other people, so why should it stop you?
