Worst part is, they were. Poland and Lithuania were both Catholic, just like the Teutonic Order.

Lithuania was a pagan polity which was under attack by crusaders of the Teutonic Knights. Eventually, Lithuania converted to Christianity and merged with Poland. This did not stop the Teutonic Knights from attacking, considering that the real motivation was loot and land for the Teutonic Order, not conversion.

Poland had a bit of an issue with Teutonic Knights takng over large swaths of land, that ended up with the 1410 battle of Grunwald that they lost and were forced to retreat eventually. Still if i remmberer correctly they were pretty muvh invited by one of the polish princes during the district divide period.
