Bees are very hard to catch in this game, so here’s the strat that works best for me: When you are in your inventory the bee swarm won’t sting you, so you can equip your net and when you unpause you have a very small window to swing your net before you get stung.

Special characters will sometimes show up in the cafe, so you may want to drop in there from time to time. or just look up a schedule but where’s the fun in that

Sometimes the weather channel will be on TV and it will actually tell you what the weather will be like in your town the next day. IIRC there’s actually a set TV schedule as well but IDK if anyone has actually documented it.

Here’s a fun little exploit: If you stand in front of a table and drop an item on the floor, you can then drop another item in the same spot and the game will be forced to place your item on the table, where they aren’t normally allowed. For most items this doesn’t really do anything, but red turnips that are placed onto tables won’t ever rot, so you could take advantage of this.

Somebody already mentioned it, but to get the final Nook store upgrade, you need a visitor to buy something from your shop. If this is a problem, you can find the WiiU Virtual Console version of the ROM somewhere since that is patched out, or you can patch your ROM yourself with this patch. I believe you should be able to keep using the same save just fine.

Speaking of Nook, you may want to make a second character on your save even if you don’t intend to play as them, because once there’s a second character Nook will start occasionally selling “Spotlight Items” and doing special sales.

Bay? Not pirate Bay I hope.

Is it a ROM? If so did you get the 1.0, 1.1 or Virtual Console release? Virtual Console would be best for solo play because it allows you to get the last Nook upgrade without a visitor.
