Perhaps I should’ve clarified.
There’s no such thing as a voluntary law. No one’s getting away with murder by saying they didn’t feel like following the law that day. The point is to enforce it through legal trickery while everyone involved throws their hands in the air and goes, “Hey man, the law might be a piece of shit, but it’s voluntary! No one’s forcing you to follow it!”
Have you considered what might be the point of writing a law that’s voluntary to follow?

Nope. Usually when I heard it argued that humans are used to moving from area to area throughout the year, what gets left out of the discussion is that they were moving with their friends and extended family. I recognize my need for intimacy in a shared physical space to remain healthy.

I wouldn’t know what you need to know. But based on what you mentioned here, it doesn’t sound like you’re going through a spiritual awakening. It’s very much an embodied, not an intellectual experience. Here’s an excerpt from Alan Watts’ autobiography describing it:
