It’s super fast in comparison to full IDEs and is easier to use than most editors. I switch between vscode and notepad++ depending on what im doing.
Aside from the fact that your comment applies to photography as well, I think it’s fair to point out image generation can also be a complex pipeline instead of a simple prompt.
I use ComfyUI on my own hardware and frequently include steps for control net, depth maps, canny edge detection, segmentation, loras, and more. The text prompts, both positive and negative, are the least important parts in my workflow personally.
Hell sometimes I use my own photos as one of the dozens of inputs for the workflow, so in a sense photography was included.
I think you’re missing the point, those who lose their jobs to automation are somewhat random / due to environmental factors and not up to choice so it’s a bit weird suggesting that.
What they are suggesting is politicians will only act once enough people are suffering in the streets. Not necessarily saying it’s morally justified, just that’s what it takes for governments to take action. Nobody is defending how our politicians are failing us.
I actually do work with AI but whatever, if you have something specific you’d like to argue go for it. Otherwise let’s not get into a pissing contest over credentials
Hard disagree, the neural connections in the brain can be modeled with matrix math as well. Sure some people will be uncomfortable with that notion, especially if they believe in spiritual stuff outside physical reality. But if you’re the type that thinks consciousness is an emergent phenomenon from our underlying biology then matrix math is a reasonable approach to representing states of our mind and what we call thoughts.
Why not? Same as a person being inspired to reuse certain aspects. Artists reuse other artists work constantly and usually more blatantly than what AI does.
I wouldn’t want to copyright every visual pattern conceivable, everything would be a copyright violation of some sort.
Some of us pay for premium but still use Revanced and Freetube because they are simply better youtube clients. Sponsorblock, OLED themes, customizable UI, better performance, etc. The adblocking is just icing on the cake

The lists are fortunately pre-installed with ublock-origin, just need to enable all lists within options: Built-in, Ads, Privacy, Malware, Multipurpose, and Annoyances
EDIT: I spoke too soon, saw another popup today
EDIT: Ignore the following, the next day the popup message returned unfortunately
I can confirm, I was getting the popup message yesterday with ublock-origin and was able to fix it by not only updating my filters but also subscribing to all the optional filters. It seems the default lists don’t have a fix yet but one of the optional ones does.
Who the heck is proposing we value that? Everyone is saying we value the safety of real children which may entail keeping artificial CP legal.
Also it’s a victimless crime so punishments dealt out are criticized heavily, and for good reason.
I’m torn because your cell phone use sounds pretty healthy but I worry others get a more negative experience overall especially with social media.
Also the idea of anyone prior to high-school having cell phones feels odd to me, when I was in school kids worked summer jobs to buy a phone so senior year of high school was a popular year to get into the cell phone game. I didn’t get one myself until I completed college and thought I’d need it for work (I didn’t). Hardly use it but it is expected to have once you’re in your mid 20s making appointments and whatnot. But do people really expect you to have one in elementary school?
Yikes, defensive much? This isnt hard to find but sure - https://chinapower.csis.org/analysis/2022-adiz-violations-china-dials-up-pressure-on-taiwan/
Sigh - you are not throwing paper airplanes over the Taiwan strait which is roughly 100 miles over the water. Please educate yourself on what China’s military is doing. And do you think some poll on who sides with China VS Taiwan on sovereignty matters is relevant?
Taiwan strongly rejects reunification, Chinese rule, and increasingly view themselves as Taiwanese. Why dont you consider their aspirations instead of enabling authoritarian countries to harass and intimidate?
It’s reasonable for any country to be “anti-china” when they are being targeted like Taiwan is. China speaks constantly of invasion and frequently violates Taiwans airspace for practice runs of an invasion. Spinning it as Taiwans fault is mindless propaganda
there are pros/cons to each brand, plus there are tons of models across each product line. I own many headsets (index, vive original, vive xr elite, oculus dk2, quest 2) and honestly I can’t say any one of them is the best as each is unique from the screens (oled VS not), wired/wireless, full body tracking, standalone VS pc, comfort, etc.
That being said, I personally go for the vive over quest as it has more accurate tracking (laser VS camera), full body tracking, better screens (OLED), and works better with steamvr.
Plus as a VRChat user I can use vive advanced controls which is a godsend for expressing yourself in VR, other controllers just don’t have as much flexibility in terms of mixing expressions and being able to set intensity levels to each expression ingame.
I’ve found that level of locked down to be rare, usually portable apps still work. That being said running portable apps is still risky since it’s likely against company policy and could be logged by IT.
You would think that but it isn’t always so clear. My college had a sizable chunk, if not a majority, of foreign Chinese students and they were extremely patriotic/nationalist.
But to be fair maybe those who never left China are even more patriotic, I wouldn’t know.
