Everyone reads at their own pace :) but yeah i think i’ll give bleach a try to see if i was missing anything. The concept sounds interesting enough and a lackluster end usually isn’t enough to ruin a story if the rest of the ride was fun enough.

I usually read about 1 to 2 volumes a day. I don’t really like rushing. Bleach is kind of a curiosity to me though, it was one of those animes that was really popular when i was a kid (along with naruto and dragonball) but i don’t think i ever caught an episode so i have no idea what it’s about.
HxH does have a trans character that is handled pretty alright in the election arc.
Damn that was quick lol.
Hell yeah! Are you also going to read hxh?
I already did play cassette beasts. It was alright
Still playing dmc5. Doing a Dante Must Die run right now
Interesting, happy molotov day by the way
Going off of memory since it’s been a long time since I’ve played sotn but I think it doesn’t make for meaningful progression in the same way power ups in metroid do. Like with metroid power ups it substantially impacts how one interacts with and traverses with the map in a way that picking up an item with higher stats doesn’t. Same problem with something like borderlands or diablo.
I just can’t jive with the rpg elements in sotn and it similarly ruined my experience with axiom verge 2
I’m more prone to writing 4000-10,000 words about why something is bad, or good, and often people don’t wanna read that which sucks
Yeah that’s the consequence of so much content being shoved in our face all the time making it what does get the most attention is the most immediately understandable and eye-catching (think buzzfeed articles with inflammatory headlines) so when someone does sit down and write something that is carefully thought out it gets blown by the wayside.
The remake of ff7 is interesting because unlike a lot of game remakes it does radically alter the source material instead of being like a shot for shot remake that updates the visuals and adds quality of life adjustments. It’s messy of coarse and has a lot of nomura bullshit with the ghosts and deviations which feel like fanservice but i can still think of it as its own beast unlike the re4 remake where the original and remake just blur together for me.
A lot of it is games are tied to proprietary hardware unlike something like movies or album making for a sort of inaccessibility for a lot of people. Like yeah you could set up an emulator but that is still many more steps then me typing in pet sounds on youtube and finding an upload instantly. Another reason is of coarse remakes being the more risk aversive avenue than making a new ip or even a sequel.
Yeah I didn’t mean to come off as hostile or invalidating I guess the way people can sometimes talk about art regardless of medium on the internet can kind of annoy me.
I guess what i’m trying to say is that people should examine and disect things not through trying to create sound bites. Like skyrim’s writing is bad but how? Is it just self evident or that it is worse then mega man x? Is it a worse game of thrones in that they’re both fantasy and skyrim is worse in what game of thrones is attempting to do?
I have also never posted on twitter.
You don’t need to ever post on twitter to be exposed to the attention economy.
I think a lot of it is that we’ve been conditioned to filter our thoughts through the lens of explosive and quick hot takes. Something can’t be middling or be flawed it has to be either an afront to god or a gift from god himself.
I mean i don’t even like skyrim but pretending that there wasn’t something there that people found appealing is just plain contarianism.
People say this but if there wasn’t a good base for mods to built off on then there wouldn’t be an extensive modding scene.
Yep i remember seeing it on toonami.
