  • Yes… I have experience here. I’m using dynamic energy tariffs so during real sunny weekends the price can be negative - I get paid to consume power. As you’d might imagine, I charged the EV, disconnected my solar panels, turned on all HVAC to max cooling and set both my ovens to clean-mode……… Put some clothes in the dryer, tripped my fuse and cost me €140,- to replace it. Also, power for that phase went out which contained one of the ovens, which was midcycle. Couldn’t cool itself down, melted the plastics 😬. But at least I gained €4 during the timeframe it worked.

  • You absolutely can, but the price of the workers for these kinds of things are way higher in the US as opposed to China. Also, if Apple could automate away manual labour to the point it would be economically viable they sure as heck would’ve done so already. Price increases using US-based manual labour are inevitable - its one of the major reasons why the global market is as it is today, cheap labour in developing countries.

  • Wow. Having not read the article (just the headline)… I seriously don’t understand why people torch/destroy other peoples stuff! Yes Elon bad, but why attack innocent civilians?! 10-ish years ago, you were considered a leftist nutjob with a hardon for climate change when you bought a Tesla (note: I do firmly believe in climate change), these days you’re a nazi driving the exact same car?… Debate, discussion, even disagreement between parties is all fine and dandy, but actually destroying other peoples property is - in my honest opinion - against the very thing people ‘are fighting for’.

  • As a Tesla owner I’m probably biased, but I do not fear these attacks at all. Thing is, because a Tesla is so connected to the mothership (and I definitely realise that’s both a good and a bad thing), chances of a thief actually being able to use or sell the vehicle are very slim. Tesla always knows where their cars are, and urning off GPS and LTE ruins 90% of the features in the car. I think thieves know this because I haven’t heard of any Tesla getting stolen and not being retrieved (but n=1).
