If an incoming fascist government were promising retribution for their political opponents, and if there were threats, however fringe, of public executions, I would also pardon my child. I’m honestly surprised more high profile people aren’t leaving the country. Though I guess that would be a bad move on multiple levels. What did that one article say? Don’t bend the knee until there’s a memo saying you have to?

I’m all for it but the problem is that working class people are too busy working. Maybe they can set up a PAC that gives scholarships to would-be politicians so they can challenge these douchebags and still pay their bills.

No, thankfully it was something specific to Adderall and most of the effects went away when I was switched to different medication. This was a few years ago so it’s hard to remember exactly what was said but I got the impression that it was not very common or well understood. They just knew that Adderall disagreed with some people, and I was one of the unlucky ones.

I stopped taking Adderall years ago because I had so many negative side effects. Headaches being one of them. Iirc there’s some sort of “syndrome” that people on Adderall can get if it doesn’t agree with them, and they get all kinds of nasty symptoms. There’s testing you can do to find out what medications will and won’t work with your specific body chemistry, I highly recommend you ask your doctor about it. When I did it they immediately told me Adderall was a no-go. I take jornay now, which doesn’t have a generic so it’s more expensive but I don’t ever feel sick. Even if I drink caffeine, which I rarely do because I just don’t feel like I need it anymore.

I’ve also heard good things about azstarys and Concerta.

Their systems of power rely on having an “in” group and an “out” group. Overt racism is less acceptable these days because now there are brown Republicans, but transphobia? Very in.

They’re just choosing a new group to “other” so that we don’t realize they’re coming for everyone who doesn’t fit into their narrow worldview.

I think most of us know it’s not a genuine threat, but we don’t care. I hope the MAGA mob eggs her on until she doubles down, and I hope in the process of eating itself alive the entire GOP fails to pass any of their regressive legislation.

Dear God, they used a punch card like it was just another day on the job? I hope they didn’t make the “prisoners” do it. I don’t know why this is so chilling but something about having to count yourself like an object makes me feel sick.

I know I’m way over simplifying but starvation was one of many cruelties inflicted on victims during the holocaust. I don’t understand why Nazis would want to count people they intended to murder, but I think it’s important to try to understand as much as we can so we don’t let it happen again. Which is why I asked.

I’m honestly not sure I want the majority of reddit users coming to lemmy. Especially as a woman. There’s just so much more nastiness on reddit. I get that sometimes the content on Lemmy slows down or gets stale, but that seems like a reasonable price to pay to avoid people with chronic interpersonal problems and no healthy emotional outlet. I think every exchange I’ve had on Lemmy has at least been respectful and I can’t recall ever feeling that way on reddit.

It reflects his miserable persona.

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why would they even need a machine to count the prisoners? If they didn’t feed their victims and were planning to murder them anyways I’m having trouble understanding why they wouldn’t be okay with just a loose head count. Was it really just for counting?

I hope I’m not coming across as insensitive, I’ve just never heard about this and it sounds so ominous.

Hm, interesting, thanks for sharing. Libertarians and fundamentalist influencers have quite a bit of overlap in the ideologies, funny enough. I don’t know how to feel about the Bill Maher tidbit though… I’m not his biggest fan, lol.
