Not as long as redditors keep parroting “tankies” and “it’s too complicated” every time Lemmy is brought up lol. They’re doing the dirty work for us.
Discords can create their own forums, with static posts people can respond to in dedicated comment chains. I think the potential is there, but discovering discords you want to join is currently very difficult.
At some point in the last year reddit hit this critical mass of toxicity that just makes the switch that much easier. To everyone saying that Lemmy is too complicated for mass adoption I say GOOD. The more barriers to that the better.
It’s hardly ever mentioned in general gaming communities but I have to give a shout out to Squad. Probably my favorite multiplayer shooter ever. The best moments in that game make you feel like you’re in a movie, and the teamwork/communication is unparalleled.
