I loved playing that when I was like ten. Genuinely felt like a pretty big adventure and the things like the illegal robot fights outside of the arenas were so cool. There was that one gun you could put on your robot that was like bumblebee themed that was a very fast shooting machine gun that immediately stunlocked your opponents, trivializing every fight. Good times.
Supporting two games with extremely similar target markets is just a dumb way to do business
putting those statements in random newspaper clippings that probably more than 95% of players are never going to read isn’t particularly praiseworthy stuff.
just fucking pirate stuff. just download it. maybe spend a tenner on bandcamp on some band you like or buy a shirt at a concert. that’s all there is to it. don’t buy new vinyl records. its plastic trash that’s gonna end up in a landfill that has literally no benefits compared to a flac.
this is one of those games where i played it for a few hours and just went “yeah i get it” and have close to no intention of ever playing more of it. like im sure it’s good but who cares
Cool video “game”
the elden ring dlc also added a bunch of new loading screens, each “spoiling” a location from the DLC
I’d still like to go there sometime
Elden Ring is a great game but it’s 10-20% too long
Wrong. Elden Rings greatness comes from those moments during your first playthrough when you have no idea where the borders of that game world is. Where you truly feel lost because you have no idea where you are. Is the mountaintop of giants a particularly great area? No, but if it hadn’t been there, the previous areas wouldn’t have felt nearly as grand. A shorter Elden Ring might have had higher lows, but it certainly wouldn’t have the highs it had. A masterpiece isn’t a masterpiece because you cut out all the bad parts.
And just like dark souls 1 it’s a fucking masterpiece
last time I played New Vegas I just grabbed the only modpack from wabbajack that didn’t also require Fallout 3 and while it was overall a pretty good experience, for some reason the author of the modpack decided that luck influencing gambling wasn’t part of their vision for the game and disabled that. it was easy to re-enable it, but to this day i am baffled by their decision. like if anything, high luck characters being able to break the bank of every casino in vegas is one of my favorite things in that game, just disabling that makes all the gambling minigames completely pointless.
Out of the big three Sony somehow feels like they are the most run by complete out-of-touch corporate charts people nowadays.
Seems like a fairly well-considered upgrade. Mostly interested in the games though, even though a lot of the people working on their games have been around for decades now, with the Switch it really seemed to me like there was a new wave of creativity and talent involved. Like Tears of the Kingdom is a game with a lot of flaws, but its core is so creative and wonderfully playful that it’s just really inspiring. Genuinely can’t think of any other company that could make a game like that.
I played this game until I got a decent zipline network in the mountains and then stopped playing it. If the game actually had been the “post-apocalyptic postman simulator” people say it is and it gave a single fuck about the characters you are supposedly connecting, it might have been something, but all the game actually cares about is its big nonsensical “save the world” plot and gamifying the shit out of its run-of-the-mill gameplay loop. It’s not fucking art to make a gameplay loop feel “satisfying” if you have so many “number go up” mechanics (we live in a post cow-clicker world people, it’s time we see through these things).
Doesn’t really help that the game feels like it was made for the trailers, like Kojima is just playing the hits, exactly what people expect but nothing else (lets not even speak of all the product placement and cringe ass media people who are for some reason in this game).
edit: do kinda feel like maybe finishing it (couldn’t have been that much left to go really) and have just redownloaded it, but damn, refamiliarizing yourself with this control scheme after four years is quite a thing.
thats literally everybody in every hobby all the time. like what could you possibly be into where you go “oh yeah this is the high time for this, this is going greater (or at least not worse) than ever before”
i mean games do kinda suck not gonna lie
Elden Ring was so fucking good. Clearly unfinished and like probably not half of what they actually wanted to make, but goddamn what a game
Episode 2 is the only well designed game of the three HL2 games.
Half Life Alyx has way better writing than any previous games in the series.
It’s really not a big mystery why Episode 3 never came out and it’s good that it didn’t. Whatever they’ll make next in the HL universe will be better than whatever they would have put out in 2010 or whenever.
