From what AI understood, yes. Scientists are not yet sure exactly what they are, and they have no apparent way to survive outside of a cell like viruses, but they also seem to be more complex than plasmids.

That assumtion is an annual cost. Although doing it for one year only would still probably reduce the homeless numbers considerably.

I live in Germany, and I can assure you no such check exists. I have one of these systems (although I don’t plug mine into the grid, I store power in batteries and use it)
I’m not sure how the electricians protect themselves, I can only assume that they measure for voltage on the line after disconnecting from the grid, and then search for the culprits. Generally speaking any service providers inform residents well beforehand about outages, and there might be fines if you hold back work? I haven’t looked into it, perhaps someone else has more info.
That’s angry. (0o0)
Caves of Qud, baby. I don’t have much free time, and it is endlessly entertaining AND it boots super fast. Nice.
I believe they meant power seperate from that provided by the jack itself, like Bluetooth headphones need a battery.
I use a britta-type generica, but inky for the water that goes in the coffee machine. All drinking water goes through a local water carbon filter.
I think it’s not really fair to compare 1940s India with current American politics.
It feels somewhat like saying “the Mongolian army took over half of Eurasia with mounted archers, Ukraine should just use those against Russia!”
It’s just not comparable, different cultures, different opponents, and wildly different technology. And this isn’t just the US, it is a worldwide class war. Organized resistance on that scale, especially when the ruling elite can monitor nearly 100% of all communication, just isn’t something that’s going to happen, even with a charismatic figurehead.
My sweetspot is 5.5-6.5 hrs. (+caffine) I’m slightly on the ADHD spectrum, so the mix of bodily stress hormones and deep sleep is just right.
But that’s just me. Everyone is different.
I never was. I had an account until about 2012, but rarely used it.
I second this. I only started playing it once it was in steam, it just wasn’t on my radar before that. Now I wish I had found it back in the day.
I certianly agree with your concern in principle, but I also think that not all corporations are evil by default. It’s important to be sceptical, but in my experience the e/OS is extremely privacy and user focused.
They partner with fairphone, they support some older hardware (etc. Samsung galaxy S7), and they have an installer app and installation intructions complete with the OS files freely available.
You even do not have to use a murena account to use the phone at all. If you perfer, you can get your apps 100% from APKs & F-Droid, and Murena doesn’t know you exist.
For me that’s enough.
You may also want to check out Murena. I have a fai-phone 5 with thier E/OS on it, I’m very happy with it, and 100% google-free.
Those were the BEST! Many fond memories, thanks for that flashback.
Imo she’s not. But the Republican party is just a more blatant tool of the ultra-rich. They are the real enemy.
She would’ve lost a ton of campaign funding if she did. It’s not that simple. Millionaire/billionaire interests also have a huge influence on the democratic party.
If you want to blame someone, blame the ultra-rich. They are the ones that have eroded democracy.
It’s not satire, they are purchasing it for real.
I made a new account recently, I used to be on Lemmy.world, but as I start to learned more about how the fediverse works, I wanted to get away from the giant main instance, help spread the users out.
Perhaps there is a way to transfer some account history? I didn’t find any, so now I’m a Fediverse baby again.
It’s my only social media. I have Voyager, and it’s all I need. I never used FB or Twitter, or anything other than Reddit. And I’m done with that cesspool.
I use a remarkable 2 to take notes during meetings and brainstorm, and until now I’ve been using it for todo lists as well. But I’m going to start using obsidian for the lists (and documentation, etc.) as of tomorrow. I already use it to organize TTRPG campaigns, and it’s high time I started organizing my work life as well as my fantasy hobby. (>n<)
