W społeczeństwie unitarnym (homogenicznym) zawsze istnieje teoretyczny model “normalnego obywatela”, obdarzonego domyślnymi przywilejami, a reszta to “mniejszości”, którym ewentualnie przysługuje “tolerancja”. Powoduje to ciągłe dążenie do pozycji “normalsa” oraz konkurencję między “mniejszościami” o zawsze zbyt skąpe benefity z “tolerancji”. I oczywiście ci “normalni” żyją w ciągłym lęku utraty swojej uprzywilejowanej pozycji na rzecz tej czy innej “hordy”, “zarazy”, czy “ideologii”.
Ten model jest do całkowitej wymiany na społeczeństwo heterogeniczne, gdzie nikt nie będzie miał przywileju z racji przynależności do jakiejkolwiek grupy – i nikt nie będzie potrzebować tolerancji, aby się czuć bezpiecznie i na równi z innymi.

In a unitarian (homogeneous) society, there is always a theoretical model of the “normal citizen,” endowed with default privileges, and the rest are “minorities” who are possibly entitled to “tolerance.” This results in a constant striving for the position of “normals” and competition among the “minorities” for the always too scarce benefits of “tolerance”. And of course these “normals” live in constant fear of losing their privileged position to one or another “horde”, “pestilence”, or “ideology”.
This model is up for total replacement with a heterogeneous society where no one will have privilege by virtue of belonging to any group – and no one will need tolerance to feel safe and on an equal footing.
