I just assume tankie’s are children who just learned about leftist politics.
They’re universally immature, hyper reactive and hopelessly naive.
If someone is an adult but acts like a tankie I just assume mental disability/disorder.
Generally speaking I pity them more than anything because being a tankie must be a miserable and confusing experience.
Tankies are just more people that cant seem to grasp that a nuanced political opinion is possible.
You can dislike capitalism’s imperialist tendencies without blindly approving of communist imperialism simply because they oppose western interests.
Tankies don’t know what they are advocating. They are naive and simple people who believe that the problem is a communism-capitalism duality, and capitalism is the problem. The issue is egalitarian-authoritarian and tankies support Kings and single points of authority instead of a democratic approach.
If I meet an adult who supports authoritarians it’s safe to assume they don’t understand what they are talking about or enjoy being someone’s bitch.
Explanation: The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was a ‘non-aggression’ pact between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany which outlined carving up Eastern Europe between the two polities. In accordance with the pact, the Soviet Union invaded Poland with Nazi Germany in 1939.
Soviet apologists often claim that it was ‘just’ a non-aggression pact, which raises the question why the fuck they were assisting Nazi Germany genocide Poland, and why the pact involved carving up the Baltic states. The Soviets would go on to supply Nazi Germany with important war materiel until 1941, when the Nazis invaded the Soviet Union.
Or just never talk to a tankie because they and not their politics are often annoying.
Oh boy I wonder what I’m wading into. BTW anyone that knows me knows I’m far from a tankie.
Stalin knew he was basically makeng a pact with the devil. He was going to sell them material, so that he could get money, so that he could industrialize the USSR, so that it could withstand an invasion. Talk about walking a knife’s edge. He wagered the USSR got more out of industrialization than Germany got out of raw resources. “We are fifty or a hundred years behind the advanced countries. We must make good this distance in ten years. Either we do it, or we shall be crushed.” Stalin said in 1931 and he wasn’t exactly wrong.
The Soviets did a hell of a lot against the Nazis, that doesn’t mean they were saints. Of course Stalin was a thug, wanted half of Poland, and probably would have rode the Alliance with Hitler as long as he could.
*Guess this just pisses everyone off lol.
Noooooooooo, why are you trying to be historically nuanced and not just dunk on the tankie strawman that was so meticulously crafted!!!
You should ask a Pole which side of that dispute they preferred
N-no-no, you don’t understand. In order not to face the enemy, you have to gain territory towards it and complain that nobody helps you do this.
