Winter burrow on steam is being released today, (Nov 12th). I went to the forums to see complete chaos. People arguing and calling out the developers about using sweet baby inc. and hiding it, others wondering what the big deal is like myself. It could just be the anti woke gamers, but there were other complaints. I got the demo and I think the game is amazing, and am not understanding why it’s such a flash point. If anyone has some context, that would quell my curiosity. I’m probably getting it later today, regardless.

People have lost the plot. It seems like a great cozy game with triple A quality. As someone who loves cozy games, there haven’t been too many to pick from recently. I think the current president has empowered shite people to believe their awful opinions should be honored. Like I said, unless buying this is putting blood money in someone’s hands I’m getting it come noon today. I absolutely think this game is going to win awards, and it looks like the kind with a story soft enough to make me cry.
As per my understanding, Sweet Baby Inc was/is a DEI consultant that would advise on accurate portrayal of minorities in games that wished to have them represented.
How accurate they were/are or how much their input is being used, I can’t say, however the easily swayed have taken to the idea they’re an evil shadowy cabal that mind controls companies and has them add brainwashing techniques meant to bring about the downfall of western society (the MAGAts that is).

I read through a few threads and what’s pretty telling it’s that they can’t name a specific thing that’s bad with the game and SBIs fault. It’s always “look it up”, “you can Google it”, “how come your haven’t heard yet?” but nothing substantial.
If you liked the demo, I’d go for the game. Have to admit it didn’t look half bad to me either, so I wishlisted it. Maybe let the community here know what you think about it, after a few more hours of playtime and if you found any shoehorned diversity.
Hahaha that’s priceless. I thought they were just wrong and loud, but I also don’t really pay attention to stuff like that. I more so didn’t want to give money to actually awful people (EA’s soon to be owners) and that would be the only thing that would stop me from getting it.
I’ll let you know, but playing through the demo I feel like it’s going to be a really good game.
