A congresswoman said she plans to file articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis on Wednesday, sparking fury from protesters and condemnation from Democratic leaders.

“I will be filing Articles of Impeachment against Kristi Noem. I’ve had enough. She has turned ICE into a rogue force, violating the Constitution, tearing families apart, and leaving death in her wake,” U.S. Representative Robin Kelly, an Illinois Democrat, announced on X.

Renee Nicole Good, 37, was identified as the woman fatally shot by an ICE officer in Minneapolis during the Trump administration’s latest immigration crackdown, a killing federal officials said was carried out in self-defense in response to an “act of domestic terrorism.” Videos captured by bystanders showed Good’s vehicle driving toward an agent and turning to speed away when the officer shot into the vehicle multiple times.

        no

        That’s not true at all.

In Idiocracy, the president and his cabinet put their smartest people (well, person) in charge with zero pushback and listened to and trusted expert opinion. When a policy failed (Brawndo went out of business and took the economy with it), there was swift punishment for those directly responsible, and when policy succeeded (crops were growing), they quickly pivoted and elevated those responsible. In Idiocracy, the most competent people were put in charge.

What we have is MUCH worse; people stupid and short-sighted enough to destroy everything in the name of ego and greed, and just smart enough to be successful in their destruction of our societies, governments and planet.

I would much rather be in Idiocracy if I’m being honest. At least those people were trying their best; can’t fault them for that.

Yeah I’ve been saying this for a while, Idiocracy would be much more preferable, and President Camacho would be better than any president since my parents were born at least. We’re getting the George Orwell / Philip K Dick future, which is like the worst one.

      and turning to speed away.

It literally is what happened. Whether you assume she was driving at the agent to hurt them or that was the direction to get away. It’s factually true that the distance between the car and the dude was closing hence driving towards.

I didn’t read that as saying the agent was in danger at all. I read it as someone describing the video I saw. Fuck IcE.

Edit: Love that this place is a kin to r/conservative in that you all dog pile with downvotes but nobody ever tries to reply to counter your point of view. Just an echo chamber or downvote. Self fellate or pile on. Maybe I’m on the spectrum but it’s pretty hard to fucking say that the car didn’t close the gap between its front and an agent. Just because I don’t like IcE or what they stand for doesn’t mean I’ll abandoned the truth like the conservatives do. Fuck that. I’d rather die than become like the people I despise.

I literally bolded the part I had a problem with: “driving toward an agent.” That did NOT happen.

But it did. I saw the video, both angles. The driver drove forward with an ICE goon off to the front left side of the vehicle.

Now I am not saying that her intent was to harm the goon, but the fact is she did drive in his direction that’s not up for debate. The dude even pivots to his right as he opens fire like a lunatic.

    There will be no consequences.

MAGA is playing a different game, and eventually, everyone will learn that.

Optimistic of you to assume that the DNC leadership is capable of learning.

After all, they’re still laser focused every election on chasing the “Republican who doesn’t automatically vilify anyone with a D behind their name” voting bloc, which is 7 or so people by now.

This entire administration “faces impeachment threat” for one thing or another. Wake me up when the ball actually starts rolling.

Well. Robin Kelly filed the articles.

We’ll see what happens, but I suspect Mike doesn’t know about any of this, either.

Impeachments have proven to be very effective at stopping this regime over the last decade. They definitely stopped Trump. He was impeached twice and it was career ending. /s

If she is impeached, they’re going to do the same thing as with the court order against Lindsay Halligan. They’re going to ignore the order until forced.

Oh no. Impeachment threat. Everything will get so much better when she will be replaced by another, wonderfully sane person. Provided that she will be impeached, which she most certainly will after murder No. 47263

No. Every bit counts. Of course this one thing doesn’t mean you can lean back and claim the problem is solved. There is many different ways of fighting back, and they all need to be employed.

Still dreaming of a thing named “Justice”? Keep on dreaming. And please stay safe, because these days there are many feds shooting civilians for no reason.

Of course I believe in justice.

I’ll say it again: this is not the only way to fight back. But it’s how politicians operate, and this one’s now doing what is in their power. Something else might be in someone else’s power to do.

IDK where that ICE murderer now is, but they could have detained him right there and prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Nothing Trump can do about it (short of starting a war against a state). But you’d probably say they’re “still dreaming of a thing named justice”.

Further, a professor sued his university who fired him over some Charlie Kirk comment on social media. He won, and the university that decided to obey MAGA is now $500k poorer. But you’d probably have told that person that they’re “still dreaming of a thing named justice”.

I understand the anger and frustration, but it doesn’t have to lead to pessimistic fatalism.
