I love GOG! They’re giving away a free game and a free Cyberpunk digital goods pack currently for anyone curious!

Before anyone gets too excited, I just wanna point out that the Cyberpunk goodies are just wallpapers and concept art.

Love GOG, definitely the best storefront for PC games by far due to their principles. They’re not perfect, but I personally don’t buy if it’s not on GOG.

Looks like I can pick up Cold Steel 3/4 and Ys 8/9 for good prices this sale, so I know what I’m getting come pay day.

Would love to use it more, but no Linux support. I’ve tried using it through Lutris, but installing updates is more annoying than it needs to be.

Same. Minigalaxy bridges the gap a little, but it’s missing critical features that only GOG could implement. GOG have had Linux gamers pestering them for Galaxy on Linux forever. Seems like a natural fit, but they’ve ignored it, teased that it’s happening, ignored it again… I eventually gave up and went all-in on Steam. Valve have done everything they can to make Linux a class-A member of their ecosystem, so that’s where my business goes.

Yep, I’d be glad to see valve have some competition on Linux, but in the meantime I’ve been greatly appreciating their contributions.

I only game on Linux and I haven’t really had any major issues. I use Lutris as well, but I’m also not really playing any games which get updates either.

While I’d love something like a Steam client for GOG, I doubt it’s ever going to happen, and personally I don’t really like Valve/Steam either so I just don’t use Steam.

What do you guys think of buying Cyberpunk 2077? I’ve been waiting for it to improve before buying, and with the dlc around the corner, and generally good opinions it seems like a great time to buy.

Edit: Just bought it together with the DLC, thanks for the recommendations!

Half-priced it’s a good deal imho. The world is nice if you enjoy the cyberpunk aesthetics and feel it portrays. I usually don’t like open world games, and Cyberpunk didn’t actively repulse me, but I haven’t finished the game either.

Great time to buy. Probably won’t be cheaper between now and DLC launch. There’s already been tons of changes to balance and the class system, performance has significantly improved. It’s honestly just a really wonderful world and role playing experience. I also highly recommend the short anime if that’s your sort of thing.

I paid £20 for it and I think it’s worth it for that price. But not at the £50 it first sold at. It’s not about the bugs or glitches - it’s just a sort of middle of the road game in terms of gameplay and immersion. If you don’t expect too much you will have a lot of fun.

I paid full price for it when it came out originally. It probably wasn’t worth it then, but it definitely is now. If you can get it on sale, go for it!

The voice actor of a character in the DLC got to play the new version and she wrote down some of the bigger changes in a thread on twitter. Some of the changes address common complaints like stats being tied to clothing and the police being rather boring. Just as some additional information.

  • If you’re interested in 4X games at all Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri is only $1.49. It absolutely holds up and to this day probably still has the best story of any 4X game.

It also works great on Steamdeck with a couple of easy tweaks. Unfortunately the instructions for those tweaks are currently in Reddit blackout shutdown limbo so I can’t copy them here, but when the blackout ends you can Find The Instructions Here.

The trackpad mouse emulation just makes almost anything viable. I played a good 100h of Rimworld until I got too annoyed with the game itself.
