The early missions are you navigating an old Soviet Gulag in the game that is styled after Nazi work camps complete with trains and everything. You befriend a Siberian group who have family members that were forced to work by the Soviets in the Gulag. You literally save a woman who was in the camps and turned into Baba Yaga to defend herself. Part of the environmental collectables is cutting down Soviet Union flags to liberate the camp and burning Cosmonaut propaganda posters. One of the collectables hits that Soviet Solders were addicted amphetamines.

The group you befriend are holdouts of an ancient indigenous blood line with ties to ancient Greece and have blonde hair and blue eyes for some reason. There’s an ancient civilization that the Soviets were trying to excavate in order to steal treasure and possibly magic. Like Indiana Jones with the Nazis.

I’m just baffled at whoever did the historical research for this game.

    Huh

I honestly don’t remember any of this shit

Then again, my memories of the modern Tomb Raider games are swirled with my memories of the Uncharted games so that might be the explanation
