You know what might have been a clue? The past!

    • March 2017: Proposed $5.8 billion (18%) cut to NIH funding, targeting cancer research indirectly.
    • February 2018: Proposed eliminating the John S. McCain Childhood Cancer Foundation.
    • June 2019: Revoked the Clean Power Plan, weakening air pollution controls linked to lung cancer prevention.
    • 2018: Delayed asbestos bans under the Toxic Substances Control Act, linked to cancer risks.
    • 2017-2019: Repeated attempts to repeal the ACA, threatening free cancer screenings like mammograms.
    • February 2020: Proposed $3 billion cut to NIH in the 2021 budget, while increasing defense spending.
    • July 2019: Reversed proposed bans on flavored e-cigarettes, undermining tobacco-use prevention.

If people are surprised, it’s because they aren’t paying attention, or they just think Trump is BASED until the ramifications show up at their doorstep.

elon is the kind of dipshit who probably holds the belief that the commoners’ cancer can be compensated with a higher birth rate. People are just a resource to him.

Nauseating to see this tiny man claim to want to go to mars when he can’t even crawl out of his own ass.

I knew he was going to hurt poor people, trans people, immigrants, US citizens born of immigrant parents, US citizens of color, women, children, and even people in need of healthcare and research. that was all fine. it was fun, actually, i made fun of them online, and tried to rub it on their face after the election as much as possible.

… but I didn’t think he would also hurt this very specific portion of them which also affects me.

fuck cancer, and fuck this guy. this guy is cancer.

Republican propaganda outlets will tell them that there is no problem and they’ll believe it. If not that, they’ll tell them the problem is a fault of the “others”, and they’ll get even more on board the maga hate train. They’re a lost cause.

And then for some reason think he’ll run the government like a business for their benefit instead of running it to the ground for his own benefit. After his first presidency was basically a scheme to funnel federal money into his hotels once he realized he could manufacture situations to force them to pay for rooms.

I think a lot of people who say that have never been close to how a business actually runs.

There’s a ton of corruption and waste

            Most businesses fail

Most businesses don’t have to serve everyone. Like there’s ADA requirements sometimes, but they’re not exhaustive and not always enforced.

“Run like a business” could mean a lot of things. Lot of people hear “don’t go wildly into debt and/or bankrupt” or basically “run it efficiently”. Other people hear “run it like a pyramid scheme”.

One of the big problems with our language, especially in the political sphere, is nothing means anything clear. Look at the “Make America Great Again” slogan. It’s absolutely meaningless. “We want the country to be good”. Look at all the “isms” that rarely can be pinned down on a single issue. Look at campaign promises that are never fulfilled. Everything is either worded in a slippery way, or clearly stated and then shoved into oblivion when it doesn’t pan out.

He was supposed to divest interest in any business that would present even the appearance of a conflict of interest, as has been done for almost 250 years. Jimmy Carter sold his peanut farm to prevent any possible appearance of corruption. Trump on the other hand put his whole staff up in his hotel, charging the American taxpayers millions of dollars per day, and sold Goyo bean commercials directly from the oval office. In typical modern fashion, the judicial and legislative branches of the government shrugged their shoulders and said “I guess there’s nothing we can do”. People talk about the damage trump may cause during his second term. Like WTF? He already outright destroyed any government credibility during his first term, dismantled trust in the free press, killed a bunch of funding, made enemies of our allies, and allies of our enemies, and cut corporate taxes even further. He has already destroyed what America was in the minds of its citizens. What more can he do, except remove the veil, and any pretense that we’re a nation of the people, by the people, for the people? At least then there would be honesty, and perhaps the blind could see.

Not just well known… He’s outright banned from ever having a controlling stake in a charity. Because his theft was so blatant and widespread that regulators decided he can’t be trusted with it again.

If he ever joins a charity as a director, the charity must have a majority of directors outside of his “inner circle”, must use external accounting firms, and must retain a law firm experienced in charity law. Basically, he can’t ever have a controlling stake in a charity.
