For me, it’s tortilla chips and ketchup…
Edit: Alright, if I get sick of your fault
Slice of ham, leaf of lettuce, coleslaw. Roll that sucker up like a little burrito. Nom nom nom.
Coleslaw makes anything delicious. It’s more of a condiment than a dish imho…
Agreed. I wouldn’t eat it alone tbh.
It’s best in a hotdog
or a pulled-pork sandwich…
That’s not weird at all lol
Redneck lettuce wrap. Sounds good
Cheese with jam
We put chilli jam on our cheese & crackers, especially good combo is: cracker+cheese+slice cabanossi/salami/etc+slice of gerkin+chilli jam dollop.
Mac and Cheese with Gojuchang hot sauce.
I’ll have to try that sometime, but Mac and cheese goes great with each type of hot sauce I’ve tried so far
Gochujang is my new favorite hot sauce, I’ve been putting it on everything. I’ve also made Gochujang caramel sugar cookies, which are fricken amazing.
Ok I’ve done something similar to this and it actually goes crazy. 10/10, would recommend
I throw diced Hatch chilis and in mac and cheese
Chocolate cake w mustard.
Ya, I know.
Yellow or brown mustard?
¿Porqué no los dos?
Yellow!
Cottage cheese, apple sauce and pickled red cabbage. Or sub out the cabbage for pickled beets.
I have my reasons.
Cottage cheese and apple butter is a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch (I believe) combination. It works really well well together. Anyway the more intense flavor of the apple butter over sauce, probably does the same as your pickled whatever
Oh I would probably love it
Before lactose intolerance set in, BBQ-flavored potato chips dipped in cottage cheese. Also Doritos dipped in cottage cheese. Absolute fire.
I think you may just like cottage cheese
I do, but I need something with a different texture to go with it, otherwise it’s too slimy and gross. I’d never eat just cottage cheese straight up.
Absolutely love any corn chips with cottage cheese!
Watermelon and bacon
That’s reminiscent of the Prosciutto e Melone that my Italian wife has taught me to enjoy!
Peanut butter is a big one for a lot of weird combos, goes well with burgs, fruit, cereal, etc, hummus is a good substitute too
Mustard has some weird ones eggs, mayo, salty stuff like chips and pretzels
Waldorf salad is basically fruit, mayo, and nuts it was popular enough you can still find it some places
Is Burg a hamburger? I’ve had peanut butter on a burger one time from…devil dawgs I think. It was really really good.
My mom used to make Waldorf salad. I hated it. Might like it now though
Yeah hamburgers with a little pb on top is great, hummus works good too
Yellow mustard is great with popcorn
Weird Al came up with the Twinkie Weiner Dog, which is a hot dog with a Twinkie as the bun topped with spray cheese. It’s surprisingly good.
Maybe not that strange, but I love natural peanut butter and locust honey on whole grain pancakes. I also love an ice cream float made with Sprite and chocolate ice cream.
On a cracker, usually a Breton (made in Canada) I place a thin slice of aged cheddar then I top it with peanut butter a smear of mayo and a drop or two of hot sauce. I used to use Franks now I use Valentina (Mexican) Anyway it’s amazing.
you just caused me to remember my sister making peanut butter and mayo sandwiches when we were kids. I had forgotten all about that. I did PB and pickles, but stopped short of the mayo…
Chocolate bar dipped in nacho cheese.
Cool ranch doritos + Chocolate.
Generally any sweet and savory combo does nothing for me, but as strange as this one is, I dig it. It’s not bad.
- French toast and ketchup and maple syrup
- Steak, cottage cheese and ripple potato chips
- Peanut butter sandwiches and chicken noodle soup
- Sweet potato fries or perogies with Miracle whip.
Okay so far these are the only really weird ones. The thought of ketchup and maple syrup gave me an involuntary shudder and I have eaten Tarantula.
Peanut butter + Raw Carrots / Cucumbers / Apples / Bananas / Cottage Cheese / Pickles / Raisins / Raw Celery
Yes I absolutely love peanut butter and eat huge quantities of it.
PB and apples is pretty common and one of about 2 ways I actually like peanut butter. It’s that and PBJs
