I finally got around to seeing “I Saw The TV Glow”, and it definitely lived up to the hype.

You could go to a barber and ask them to just shape it naturally. That way you can keep most of the length, but it looks well-kempt and not messy, so you will have more time to think about how you want to style it.
I’m afraid to go to the barber ever since a bit of transphobia I experienced early in transitioning, so I do all my own hair care.
I get that. I cut my own hair, too, unless I go to an explicitly trans friendly place staffed by queers.
Idk what your hair type is, but it’s not too hard to shape yourself. You can comb out the hair to see how long it is, and then trim it uniformly. From there you can try shaping.
Round is probably easier, but you could also try shorter on the sides and longer at the bottom, which leads to a more striking profile.
I’m usually lazy and try to imitate what I see other dudes do near me, sadly most of them just opt for the mountain man look with a hat or the typical buzzed/faded sides and long top that’s like maybe 3 sides and 4-6 top. That look won’t work in retail though, well the hair yes, for facial hair I’ll need to pick something quick since I’ve just been letting it go. I have really fine textured wavy hair. I could break out scissors if I need to.
