Hearing about others’ dreams has always been a subject that really interests me.
My favorite dream ever was one where I was in a choir and almost everyone important to me in my life was also a member. It was never specified what exactly was going to happen, but we all just understand that it was bad and that the only way to prevent it was for all of us to sing Come Sail Away by Styx from start to finish. As we get to the second verse it becomes evident that I’m the only one who knows the words, so I take the lead. We finish the song and everyone is very proud.
I had a similar dream where everyone in my life started working at my work, a pizza place, and I had to teach them all how to make the pizzas.
I’ve had a few dreams with a recurring theme where I’ll go on a vacation, and for some insane reason I bring all three of my cats, who proceed to lose their shit and run off, I end up in some kind of Benny Hill-like escapade trying desperately in vein to catch them, which is funny in retrospect and very stressful during.
In one of them we were on a cruise ship on the top deck and one of my cats jumped over the railing to escape, not knowing it was open air beyond, she definitely died. I basically screamed until I woke up.
Just 1 dream stuck with me. One I had ahen I was in primary school.
I was at school, but slowly I realized it doesn’t seem real. Then I realized it is indeed a dream. Teacher told me to sit down, because I was looking out of window. “I won’t.”, I said. She got mad, “Who do you think you are?”. My reply: “You aren’t even real.” The teacher: “Are you already completely dumb?” And my final reply: “Fuck you! I am waking up.” and I woke up.
I was so happy to say “Fuck you” to teacher without consequences xD.
I got shot 3 times in the lower stomach. I was in my driveway and propped myself up on a car as I felt the life run out of me. I woke before I died.
Scientist were say the world was going to end due to a shift in the center of earths gravity. For some reason, the Chicago Cubs were playing behind our local mall. (Your guess is as good as mine) I was peeing in my bathroom, when all of a sudden, I felt pulled violently to a wall. I woke before the earth ended
A few big ones really stuck with me.
As a child, it wasn’t a complicated dream, but I was dreaming that I was wearing roller skates and a rabbit was pushing me up and up and up a hill, and then pushed me off a cliff. I woke up on the floor.
Past decade, I had a dream about this really abusive ex and his family. We were out on the ocean on these little crappy rafts, and for some reason he and I were in a fridge as a boat. I feel out I think, and there were whales in the water. They grabbed my arms and started pushing me down, and down, and down, and then let go and I just kept going down and then I woke up.
I have had a few more deep ocean dreams but they trigger such a huge fear response (have thalassophobia) that they now always become a lucid dream and I switch to flying to get away from the water.
Past couple of years, I had this really weird one, there was a grim reaper kind of thing following me around wherever we went and it was terrifying. He was just everywhere I went in the dream. I was in the car and we were driving past our city hall and he was on the steps. I had had enough, I made my bf stop driving, I got out, and ran up the steps toward it shouting, “FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU!” I woke up actually in the middle of yelling the third one IRL 😆
Oh and a weird random not quite a dream. About 15 years ago one night I woke in the middle of the night during a dream, and there was this bright vivid scene still in my eyes just hanging in the air in front of me for a good minute, it was crazy, it faded and I got up because I was in disbelief that it had happened. Just a weird brain didn’t turn off the dream thing entirely I guess
This post reminded me of a dream I had today.
I was hiking up a hill through a forest and saw a snake by the side of the path. I stopped to look at it. It was completely black with a strange white dotted pattern on its back, unlike any snake where I live. Then I heard something moving a little uphill, I turned to look, and it was another snake, and next to it another. I looked around and the ground was writhing with snakes. I started running away into the forest, but it was getting darker and darker. Then I heard an ominous whirring sound getting progressively louder. I woke up and it was the washing machine.
I have a reoccurring one that I get a few times a year for the past 20ish years. I’m nervous about sharing it for fear that it may trigger the dream but I want to contribute.
It’s dusk and I’m around twelve years old standing with my parents on a large square stone structure that stands just higher than the trees in the massive forest that surrounds it. Imagine a medieval castle wall or the Great Wall of China if it were square.
The only other people there are a few skeletal “caretakers” wearing Asian rice hats that obscure their faces. They quietly sweep with big push brooms and keep to themselves.
In each corner of the structure is a 3x5ft hole with steps that lead down about 10ft ending at a black, lightless, drop-off.
I’m always standing on that last step before the void, looking up at my parents who are at the top impatiently waiting for me to jump. I tell them I’ve changed my mind and that I want to go home but they’re holding me to my word and won’t let me come back up. I usually wake up and that point and feel pretty depressed.
When I was around that age my dad walked in on me pulling the trigger on his.45 pistol I’d had against my head. I didn’t know to pull back the slide first to load it. He was, understandably, very mad. I feel this dream is related to that event somehow. I think I’ll probably continue to have it until he dies. I’m almost 40 years old it has to end sometime.
I’m terrified of snakes. In my dream i saw one and then was afraid to go to sleep because i was worried i would dream about it.

One that was so disturbing to me, I recounted it fully on /r/nosleep back when I used Reddit. I wasn’t even in it, but the demonic figure still somehow looked at me even though I wasn’t in it
Some random ones I’ve had over the years:
-I got shot up by Winnie the Pooh, and while waking up in the hospital he showed up in a nurse’s outfit and threw me across the room
-I went to a hospital owned by Amazon to get a cancerous brain tumor removed. Regular hospitals were reserved for the rich despite also being cheaper. After they put me under, where I had to fill out a poll in another dream, I woke up in a battle royale arena unable to speak.
-Jewish people could turn into fruit
-I was ProZD who was also a penguin, and scientists tortured me by forcing me to watch fish be improperly seasoned
-I quoted Margarete Thatcher and someone replied “Wise words for someone without a spine”
-My sister’s friend died, so we had a “Fun-eral” which was having a scavenger hunt with finding her body parts in a forest
(NSFW)
spoiler
-I was walking through the woods and I come across a field with a bunch of people fucking. There’s this one guy and girl, and when the guy… you knows, she gets launched into the sky like a bottle rocket. I did not see her fall back down.
-I was in a fancy art museum that was somehow in Sonic Adventure 2, and those infamous gay furry erotic rat paintings from a 1992 art auction video where on display.
I dreamed this several weeks ago:
I was with a couple of people on the street near some parked cars when all of a sudden this comically large, brown and white patched moose kind of…appeared in front of us. My 6-year-old daughter also appeared right next to me, saw the moose, and uttered—in her little girl voice—“God DAMN!”
I woke up laughing my butt off.
Got a visit from my late father, so brought him up to date on the latest family news.
Multi-part lucid dreaming story line when I was younger (10-16ish?). Some kind of magicians school, all magic I ever learned was floating a few meters above ground, which took a lot of concentration. I think overall it was 3 parts of the dream, with parts sometimes repeating (not exactly, just the same basic story). Many of my dreams were lucid in general, but others weren’t as interesting, I mainly used it to decide to wake up when a dream became uncomfortable.
For close to 2 decades now, I haven’t really dreamed (not sure what the science says, do we always dream but not remember, or not?), with notable exceptions being after the first covid vaccine and when I stopped using nicotine in my ecigs about 2 years ago, both resulting in a few weeks of dreaming.
