    Can’t say I’m super excited for an American world cup in this day and age. I’m feeling more opposed to I than I did the one in Qatar, actually.

    Also purely selfishly as a viewer it’s in a bad time zone, so I’ll get much fewer opportunities to watch anyway. I know I can always watch the games back but it’s not the same.

      it’s like a world tour of the shit stain countries: Russia, Qatar, US.

      FIFA will probably award N. Korea then Afghanistan next .

        There’s a trend here, I’m sure of it! and I’m sure there’s a group of morally deprived people who are responsible for this… But I just can’t quite seem to put my finger on whom that might be…

    Not interested in giving Fifa’s bootlicking of Trump and the corrupt antics over there any legitimacy.

    I was so damn excited for it until a couple years ago. It was finally going to be in my country, as well as having games in my city. It was back in a country I didn’t feel the need to boycott (completely boycotted both Russia and Qatar).

    Now? Not excited about it at all. If I didn’t live in this country, I’d boycott it. I might pick up tickets to a game in my city if the tickets aren’t expensive (unlikely). I probably won’t watch any games on TV. I might even look into Airbnb-ing my house and taking a vacation to get away. I’m honestly considering going to games in Canada or Mexico instead.

    My disillusionment with it started before Trump, but him getting back in office has absolutely killed any excitement I had for the World Cup here. FIFA fucking sucks. The tickets are currently wildly expensive (maybe that’ll change when no other countries can/will travel to the US). I have a bad feeling about security and the possibility for terrorism. And if they schedule day games like they did for the Club World Cup, then it’ll be a shit show for Europeans.
