I literally had this exact conversation with my mother in 1989 … she went to an all-girls college (16-18) and said it was considered normal for most girls to have a “pash” with another girl, and she still holds a candle for hers now, aged 85.

Yes, it’s one of the maybe 3 times my mother has been genuinely honest about herself with me so it’s a very treasured memory
My mom was never that honest (with herself). When we went through her belongings after her death we found pictures with some of her “just friends” where they were kissing passionately. My dads response: that sure is normal behaviour for all women when their partners aren’t around… LOL.
Us humans are very good at lieing to ourselves and believing it :-/
