I keep seeing posts and screenshots of people compiling lists of game developers who made jokes or comments about Charlie Kirk’s death and then sending those lists to their employers.

This is not “accountability.” This is targeted harassment.

These devs didn’t call for violence. They didn’t dox anyone. They didn’t break the law. They made jokes, expressed frustration, or pointed out the irony of a guy who spent years defending gun violence dying by it. That’s not a threat, but it’s being treated as one.

Compiling names, linking them to workplaces, and encouraging mass reporting is basically a digital hit list. It creates a chilling effect: “speak out against a white supremacist and we’ll ruin your career.”

And let’s be real, the people doing this were never going to buy these devs’ games anyway. this is an ideological purge. It’s about power and fear and punishing dissent. (They were never going to buy Ghost of Yotei because of Erika Ishi but that didn’t stop them from sending EMails to Sucker Punch about Drew Harrison’s tame (Compared to the bile Kirk spent his life spreading) joke)

The same crowd screaming about “cancel culture” are now gleefully doing the exact thing they claim to hate. They were never against cancellation, they just wanted control over who gets punished.
