Is it though? As planned by MAGA? I’ve seen other news from Portland/Oregon, it looks like the local admin is prepared to stop the National Guard. As well as protesters.

The local admin will not line up and be a human shield. It is a ridiculous notion that the storm troopers will stop because of a bunch of paperwork.

The Trump regime clearly still follows (some) court orders, even if they’re hoping to circumvent them. So why should we roll over and give up in the courts? That is the ridiculous notion.

I think you’re confusing an authoritarian breakthrough with authoritarianism. We’re still in the phase where courts have an effect.

Courts have the effect of a few days. If, in a few more days, the California National Guard is in Oregon—will you apologize to me?

I don’t think you’re picking up what I’m putting down. I’m saying that the courts are one tool in our resistance toolbox, because the Trump regime still sometimes listens to court rulings—as their authoritarian takeover isn’t complete. I’m not saying courts are magical in that they’ll instantly stop Trump forever, and I’m not saying they’re sufficient on their own. We have to keep resisting and practicing non-cooperation as well.
