That’s because kbin lacks an official API, which this PR should fix.
I know personally I was looking into modding an old Reddit client to use kbin but found that it didn’t have an API so held off. I’m sure there are many other devs that are doing the same.
I imagine the gap will close pretty fast once kbin gets a proper API.
That assumes they even have a position, seems more like they just want to stir shit for fun. They’re doing a pretty good job of it if that’s the case.
Not sure what you mean by this. I’m sure Google has issues but companies changing their design language to match current trends isn’t exactly a unique Google thing.
I suddenly feel an urge to install Arch
Not sure why people would hate gas stations, I hate the gas companies setting the insane prices, but the stations themselves are often just local businesses.
ISPs on the other hand are like abusive partners, they do an awful job until you say you’re going to leave. Then they start begging you to stay and promising to get better. Then they’re good for about a week before starting to completely screw you again.
Somewhat off topic but does kbin currently have a working API? Every instance I’ve attempted an API call on just errors out. Same thing when running a local test instance.
Would also likely be a good idea to distribute an OpenAPI spec so people can automatically generate API clients in the future.
Thanks for making such a great platform by the way. Genuinely impressed what a solo dev is able to build with activitypub.
What I find more frustrating is undocumented environment variables to override config locations.
The amount of times I’ve had to dig through the source code for a CLI to find an environment variable to force the config somewhere should be zero. But it’s not.
They do get paid, when a user leaves the original site to visit the publisher and views their ads.
A taxi driver doesn’t pay the business that they drive you to for giving them the opportunity to drive you there. You pay the driver for getting you there and then you pay the business you wanted to reach.
This is very much just the huge Canadian media corporations lobbying the Federal government to get more money for no additional work. Something they’re very good at by now.
Running on Windows 11 with a 6900XT and Vulkan and DX11 look effectively identical as far as I can tell but Vulkan runs a lot faster and doesn’t stutter when loading a new area.
Unfortunately though it tends to crash on tab out which means I need to use DX11 because I play with friends.
