Agreed, especially now that the second trilogy is underway. Hoping the next book follows the same more mature progression and can wrap up the story in a satisfying way.

I had a NA Guinness Stout that I really enjoyed. Had I not followed it up with an actual Guinness, I may have been convinced it was the real thing.
Eh, at least in my experience, interest in most normal mortgages ends up less than the standard deduction so it can’t be claimed. It was a change Trump made to the tax code I think. I don’t understand enough about it to know if it affects me negatively or not. I know it’s better for me to claim the standard deduction instead of itemizing my deductions. This means I can’t claim interest paid (which is bad), but the standard deduction is higher than it was before, so I think I’m still claiming more money as untaxable (which is good, I think?).
Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can chip in.
I can’t remember, was The Jungle written in 1904 or 1980? Because this storyline seems really familiar.
I don’t thing it’s location specific. It’s more like a pie chart where it’s grouping the similar land typess together and then arbitrarily placing them on the US map.
Agreed! And less buggy. 2 weeks ago the servers were constantly crashing or the apps were glitching out. You can see the progress day by day.
Man, that doesn’t resonate with me at all. I don’t think there is any point to living other than just enjoying your time here. Sure, work when necessary to be able to afford the necessities, develop some skills to be able to afford a few luxuries, but honestly just do things that make you happy. Self-improvement as a reason to live seems awful. If you’re unable to improve, are you a failure? If you’re already happy as you are, should you just end it?
Nope, i think they’re integrated now. I’m on lemmy.world and I’m seeing his comment.
Agree! TopHour was my preferred way to sort reddit. Felt like I’d get new, active posts. And then they’d basically refresh each hour so i wasn’t seeing the same things over and over again. I’m currently using TopDay and Hide When Read, but it’s not the same bc i can’t go back and find posts that I’ve read earlier.
Another suggestion, I would love redditsync style “peeking” while in list mode. Holding down on the thumbnail temporarily opened the image, played the gif, or zoomed in on the article’s thumbnail. It allowed for quick browsing without opening the thread or accidentally getting re-routed to an external site. It’s probably the thing I miss most about Sync at the moment. Otherwise I’m loving this app overall so far.
This is a great resource, thank you! Interesting to like that there was an impact over the past 2 days, but it looks like it’s going back up to normal today. I guess we need to wait until the end of the month to see what happens with apps shutting down and subs continuing/going back to blackouts. Hopefully this wasn’t just a one time, 2-day reduction in traffic.
Agree, tap to expand and hold to hide makes more sense to me too.
The Daevabad Trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty was very enjoyable. Still YA, but engaging throughout.
