Congress requires the Pentagon to support the scouting program’s Jamboree, a gathering of thousands of young scouts held every three or four years. The U.S. military lends trucks, ambulances and medical teams, and puts on aviation and skydiving demonstrations, all at no cost to the Scouts. For the military, it’s both a training exercise and an opportunity to recruit highly motivated, civic-minded kids.
But the law includes an exemption: the Secretary of Defense can withhold support if he determines providing it would be “detrimental to national security.”
Drafts of a report to Congress obtained by NPR show Hegseth invoking that clause — accusing Scouting America of fostering “gender confusion.”
His memo to the House and Senate Armed Services committees argues the Scouts have strayed from their mission to “cultivate masculine values.” It also claims that with international conflicts and a tight budget, sending troops, doctors and vehicles to a 10-day youth event would harm national security by diverting resources from border operations and protecting U.S. territory.
Jamborees are also held in other countries and for some magical reason they don’t need the military or are even opposed to be associated with military.
So this could turn out to be a good thing that prevents kids to be raised militant, even if it causes logistic problems at first.
“For the military… its an opportunity to recruit… kids” is a hell of a statement. Hot take but maybe the military shouldnt be recruiting children
The number of leaders among reservists, guardsmen and organizations like the VFW or American Legion who would fight for the opportunity to “relieve” active-duty units of the “burden” of helping with such events will probably be more bothersome to manage than whatever “lack of resources” shits-geth is expecting to inflict.
It wasn’t enough to try and fail to get the Marines and Army to destroy our most populous cities, to the point they “had-to” allow swastika tattoos in the Coastguard and literally bribe people(to an absurd degree) into ICE, now they’re going after the civilian institutions that helped swell the military’s ranks for decades.
It’s like they’re trying to train new leopards to bite thier own faces off, but like “when you behead me, a real man would do it with the backside of a Bowie-knife.” Real clown-car antics from people that won’t even have a friend to drive the car, let alone people to fill it, when their bullshit’s all played-out.

My favorite part is how they are claiming it’s because military is so weak that a couple of vehicles and a staffed medical tent will cause it to collapse.
To be replaced with the Trump Youth or something to that effect.
Why not just skip the middle man, and bring back the hitler youth?

Imagine putting your children near anything with that rapists name on it on purpose. That alone should qualify for child endangerment if not outright abuse.

No it isn’t
Every organization that involves kids is a pedo magnet. Predators go where their pray is.
The safety of the kids is down to the parents and leaders because the BSA and council will revoke your charter in a heart beat if they think anyone will sue.
In my opinion and experience kids are as safe as any other organization.
The amount of background checks and mandatory training I have to do every year for every program that I coach or lead is crazy.

Nah. Trump wouldn’t understand that phrase. He would think being “lousy” with pedophiles means pedophiles face consequences there.
He would take it to mean “It’s lousy FOR pedophiles”. Because trump is the only stable genius that doesn’t understand how words work.
Doing something about it is probably how they made it onto the shit-list.
