AoM = Age of Mythology
AoE2 = Age of Empires 2
CK3 = Crusader Kings 3
HOI4 = Hearts of Iron 4
EU5 = Europa Universalis 5
CIV7 = Civilization 7
They’re still developing AoE2?
If China is good and has a lot of content in CK3 I might finally play it
I haven’t played it, but the last DLC added “administrative empire” and it’s allegedly made Byzantine more fun to play. A China DLC would need to deviate hard from standard CK gameplay to be good, but the last one’s a good sign.
Honestly the biggest new thing for me is the landless adventurer mode, I can’t wait for mods like the World of Darkness one to get updated with those features.

Yup, exactly.
Crusader Kings was always “playing a single person” as whoever is the current head of your house/dynasty. The big change with this is you are no longer limited to playing a landed noble. So you can indeed play as something like a mercenary captain or wandering theologian/mystic.

Western game devs have discovered that Chinese people play videogames
If you’re a weeb and you’ve ever tried to play some untranslated VN, that’s basically what playing most western games was like in China for ages. Even now, a lot of publishers just do shitty translations - Baldur’s Gate 3 was machine translated and about a third of its sales were in China.
