Shalom Shitrit - an IDF soldier who was on duty on 7 October 2023 - has made a damning testimony to the Knesset

22 months of relentless Israeli bombardment the scale of seven Hiroshima bombs
Fascinating comparison. The Hiroshima bomb killed about 1/4 of population instantly, and about 1/3 in a year’s time. 7 hiroshimas (if distributed evenly) in Gaza would probably wipe out like 9/10 of the population in minutes and make the remaining living envy the dead.
This is maga level conspiracy. We need some source standards on this community.
We knew a few weeks after the attack that over a dozen intelligence agencies told them it would happen, and they chose to lower their defenses instead of prepare.
If you’re referring to the Egyptian intel warning and the internal warning that hamas was training. There was a meeting to address those concerns booked for literally that day.
You also need to understand the context because in the west we think “oh a security threat we must address it immediately no matter how small”. but isreal has so many threats and its a balancing act to allocate resources. From their report they were prioritizing responding to the Hezbollah forces on their northern border and they were fresh off a war with hamas where they thought they had destroyed a lot of hamas’s capabilities. The idf admit they underestimated hamas’s goals and didnt think they were interested in starting a war because of how obviously stupid it would be.
The IDF definitely fucked up thats not debated but there is no real credible case for it being intentionally orchestrated by isreal. The evidence is a bunch of explainable events that stringed together can look like a grand plan to those that want it to be true. If you want to hate isreal there is plenty of well supported cases to hate them for.
Sensationalism, easy peasy finger pointing b/c this, that or whatever. Not picking sides. Just being pickier about journalism & all the sources. It is way more complex than the common dimwit (that common dimwit is me btw) can truly comprehend. The level of when, who & why. Yeah, that’s messed up. But what is truly messed up is our senses are being offended & it is just too much for some to think about. I guess this is why garbage journalism goes right along according to the wretched script.
The Israeli soldier testifying on video?
Why are all “credible” news outlets refusing to report on this?
They’ve already done an entire report on the failures. A solider saying he got a call to cancel a patrol is not enough evidence for the claim.
What do you think the IDF solider is testifying to by the way?
I’m only skeptical because I would really love to believe this.
That is the best first response, these days.
Be aware that the claim that they let this happen on purpose in this article is mainly based on the fact that patrols were cancelled.
According to The Dissident, Shitrit said during his testimony that at 5.20am on 7 October:
We were playing on the phone and suddenly a strange message came up from my deputy commander, … and what he says on the radio is something like this: ‘I don’t know why, but an order was given that there would be no patrols in the (Gaza) fence until 9am
And sure enough, an hour later, at 6.30am, suddenly sirens.
I don’t feel this is as conclusive as they present it to be.
If they normally do these patrols EVERY morning, as the testimony claims, ot’s EXTREMELY suspicious, and the evidence to counter it needs to be equally-extremely convincing.
It certainly isn’t conclusive. But I’d say it warrants further investigation. Something that is unlikely to happen.
And ultimately doesn’t matter, nothing would change even if it came out Hamas doesn’t exist and it’s just a play by the IDF
I wouldn’t be surprised if “Hamas doesn’t exist” is the next conspiracy theory that gets promoted here.
I call bullshit on this one. Their only “source” is an alleged video on Twitter, with a link that doesn’t resolve (anymore?).
The evidence has been mounting for years, and even this specific revelation just confirms what was known since 2024. Yes, the current Israeli regime absolutely has a master plan for killing all Palestinians and taking over their territories, and yes, this plan absolutely includes manipulating public opinion globally - in other words, lying about it. It also includes supporting Hamas.
They discuss all this relatively openly in knesset.
Anyhow, here’s a lengthy quote from the article. There are links in it which didn’t copy over, so please click on the article and further links.
This is not the first article of this kind btw, and many come straight from Israeli more-or-less-mainstream outlets.
this testimony from an on-duty IDF soldier sits next to a wealth of documented evidence Israel knew of the attack well ahead of time. Reporting on this, US independent outlet The Young Turks pointed to a number of these. One was a New York Times article from November 2023 detailing how Israeli officials had:
obtained Hamas’s battle plan for the Oct. 7 terrorist attack more than a year before it happened
It also highlighted an article by Israeli news site Haaretz from June 2024 which buttressed this further. It confirmed that the Israeli intelligence had “detailed knowledge of Hamas’s plan”. The same outlet has underscored IDF command ignoring intel from women soldiers patrolling at the border, warning of an impending attack.
Moreover, Israel deliberately deploying its Hannibal Directive makes the soldier’s testimony all the more believable as well. This Israeli military policy prefers the murder of its own soldiers, over them becoming hostages. Numerous Israeli press reports and revelations from Israeli military officials revealed a “mass Hannibal” order that directed the slaughter of civilians Hamas took captive.
Israel’s then defense minister Yoav Gallant later admitted that the government implemented the Hannibal Directive on 7 October.
In other words, Israel was fully prepared to murder its own citizens.
And they’re clever enough to leave their supporters with one final argument, even if they find out about these very real conspiracies: Hamas still actively perpetrated the attack.
In other words, Israel was fully prepared to murder its own citizens.
100%
What gets me every time is how people who team up with fascists think they aren’t going to turn on them too. It was always about the 0.01%, nobody else. And it seems they are winning.
Didn’t know we were waiting for confirmation on that. Didn’t they post a report back in December that Israel had intel and did nothing?
Fucking monsters.
Exactly, the whole thing was just a convinient excuse to exterminate Palestinians, it was never about defending Israel
There’s a string of not-even-hidden evidence going back many years: Netanyahu’s government actively conspired to destroy Gaza, Palestine etc. by all means, incl. killing their own soldiers and civilians, incl. even supporting Hamas.
Very well documented is the fact that in the 1980s, Israel supported Hamas to undermine the PLO, because the PLO wanted a two-state solution and Hamas and Israel did not. Hamas has long provided Israel with the excuse to keep escalating.
Frankly, it’s all pretty well documented. They’ve been doing it pout in the open for a long time.
If I remember correctly, the PLO only adopted a two-state ideology in 1993.
Yes. First time I heard it was still in October 23 in a fucking tiktok clip. Same with most of the other atrocities. The media reports on it now not because they’ve learned these things only now but because they have become impossible to ignore/deny.
they let the terrorists kill them
so it’s their fault
your jew hating victim blaming conspiracy fantasy is epic
are you the monster?
Why are you anti-semiticly tying all Jewish people to the genocidal state of Israel. Israeli’s, and Israeli’s alone are responsible for Israel’s actions.
i think you just want someone to be angry at. be angry at netty boy and all of his sycophants.
or are you one of those sycophants?
I made this statement and I’m fucking jewish! There is a HUGE gap between innocent terrosist victims and the government of Israel.
But if you wanna show your colors and play the antisemite card, go ahead.
He called netenyahu and other extremist in his csbinet monsters not the civilians victims during 7 of october attrocities. Are you denying that netenyahu is a monster?
Some people are on the epstein list. You’re on the denialist
Yeah… Don’t think this will fly here. Go try it on Reddit.
Not. Surprised. In the least.

I find it much easier to accept that Israeli intelligence dropped the ball than they orchestrated or even tolerated the attack.
The facts about operation Hannibal, collective punishment, starvation, and war crimes is complete and morally damning without imagining that right-wing Israeli atrocity-profiteers are Palpatine level manipulators instead.
They absolutely did let it happen on purpose. We had information that pointed to this conclusion within weeks of the attack.
Egypt told Israel that Hamas was planning something.
You can walk to the closest military base faster than the IDF reacted to Hamas’ operation.
Nova survivors are sueing the security forces in presence: a single phone call could’ve saved hundred of lives.
The list goes on and on, this is absolutely a case of “let it happen on purpose”.
I tend to believe both. These people have shown us there’s no level of evil to which they will not sink when they think it will benefit them.
Palpatine level manipulators
idk, i don’t think it’s that deep either but netanyahu was looking like he was going to be in some deep shit, and then october 7th happened and quite suddenly there’s a bigger issue for people
i don’t think it was planned and manipulated exactly, but it sure was a convenient distraction, and i think when you (and i of course mean you in the non-personal sense) start to think of a “plan” then all sorts of “yes and” “benefits” start to crop up
i wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was a convenient distraction that morphed into the horrific “seize it all” genocidal zionist end game that it’s become over the course of less than a month
The facts about operation Hannibal, collective punishment, starvation, and war crimes is complete and morally damning without imagining that right-wing Israeli atrocity-profiteers are Palpatine level manipulators instead.
What?? Hold on…
This is where you draw the line? You’re aware of all the other shit you listed, but why would they do this?
Unreal…
I’d say he would kill himself with 5 bullets on the back on the head, but it’s not like Israelis aren’t proud of what’s happening.
Israel will just shoot you in the face and tell the media you were an “anti-Semite”
Israel will just shoot you in the face and tell the media you were an “
anti-Semite” Hamas
FTFY
Yes, even more distressing than Israel perpetrating a genocide is that almost the entire population is enthusiastic about it.
That’s actually not true, at least not anymore.
Anyway, if we’re not blaming Palestinians for electing Hamas, we shouldn’t be blaming Jews for electing Netanyahu.
Political propaganda is real problem for everyone, and those who know better need to be morally consistent role models for the rest, or we’re doomed to repeat history over and over.
Pretty sure I just read a poll on here a day or two ago saying that they support the actions in Gaza.
Let me find it…
Edit: here it is
“Troubled” is a weird way of wording the question. It’s not the same as “support” per se, but it’s bad enough I concede your point. I’m probably getting a biased perspective from more progressive Israelis.
When was the last election in Gaza again?
If palestinians has better options they would get it how csn you organize elections when you sre occupied to? Isrsel is a drmocracy by name they have elections with ton of options yet they voted for him 6 godamn times because they love prime minister hostile to palestinians that would prevent a palestinians state
I agree, but political propaganda is what it is.
I wouldn’t be surprised if most Israeli voters are deeply misinformed about what is really happening, and most people don’t care to question what they know, since most people are just trying to get through the day and live their best lives.
Blame has to go to those in power. Blaming people for voting wrong doesn’t achieve anything.
Extremists are played in their tv channels all the time. I simply don’t how it’s imposible for anybody to know the amount of attrocities their is not only in gaza but also in the west bank
I don’t think it’s impossible (sorry, I know that was a typo) and I’m sure a significant minority are aware, and they are the Israelis actually voting on the right side of history.
But, it’s easier than you think for a huge number of people to be woefully wrong about the people they are voting. The best example of this in the world right now is Donald Trump and his Republican party.
Trump’s so obviously tyrannical it’s hard to imagine anyone not knowing, and yet around half of those who voted, voted for him. Objectivity there cannot be that many psychopaths in the population, so what explains their belief in him?
Occam’s razor suggests it has to be ignorance.
I’ve no doubt the technology, the Internet and social media algorithms in particular, have played their role. Fox news too, and now the Podcastisphere. Media echo chambers are a relatively new phenomenon and it’s taken a little while for bad faith actors (mostly on the right, and in oligharical circles) to twist the narrative in their favour, but here we are.
There’s every possibility it’s the same for most Israelis in the default case.
Naturally, in any nation with crippled media, propagandistic control is going to be even worse (like Hamas’s Gaza, Iran, previously occupied Syria, etc.). So it just doesn’t make sense to blame voters is all I’m saying, because they think they’re making the right voting choice in the end.
It was always the most plausible option. Narratives come before massacres, and you need something real to incite the people. 9/11 was just two decades ago, lol.
"You need a radical insurgency you can count on. You need
GhormanHamas rebels you can count on to do the wrong thing.”Star Wars being incredibly prescient.

Don’t forget the sinking of the Maine as pretense for the Spanish-American War.
Or the gulf of Tonkin incident with good ol’ Vietnam.

Weapons of mass destruction
Now they’re victim blaming Israel for a Hamas/Palestinian terrorist attack. This world sucks.
Palestinian attack? Are you fucking serious?
You do know that over 70% of the Palestinians supported the Oct 7th terrorist attack at the time, right?
Show your work.
It’s not a big secret or anything.
I didn’t know that, so it’s great to have a source to educate myself. Thank you!
You will never be able to convince me that it wasn’t Putin who orchestrated this attack through Iranian and Middle Eastern terror intermediaries to shift the focus away from Ukraine.
Maybe I can’t but antipsychotics probably could
Hey, if you want some anti-Putin paranoia, I can give you that.
Maybe you’re a Russian state paid propagandist, and your goal here is to water down accusations against Putin by blaming him for crazy shit that he has nothing to do with.
The point in posting bullshit isn’t just to get people to believe things that are false. It’s also to get people to ignore things that are true, like Putin largely being responsible for both of Trump’s elections through the use of propaganda. The first time was largely manipulating online social media. The second time added US podcasters and personalities that spouted narratives beneficial to Putin.
Lmao, what?
