When I first heard Thom say they would still play in Israel I was incredibly disappointed. I’ve loved their music for over two decades now but haven’t been able to listen to them since I heard about their stance on Israel.
What’s even more ridiculous is they were ostensibly anti Imperialist back in the day, at least anti establishment. Their Zionism is a disgrace and a stain on their legacy.
Lots of people are anti-imperialist for everything but Israel. It’s so bizarre. I guess that’s what high quality propaganda can do for you.
Thom Yorke has always been woke in the way that Sting or Sean Penn are woke i.e. not at all really lol. I think also there is some personal love for Israel because that’s where they first started getting big radio play 🤷
