And of course Liverpool pronounced live-a contains the Liver Building. Pronounced Live-er

      Makes total sense.

The city is pronounced liver, rhymes with river. Source - I live there. It’s confusing, as the building is indeed pronounced differently.

in french it’s either donaldville or canardville (duckville) depending on the media and translation

but while finding this, I learned that french wikipedia has a page for the town (english wikipedia doesn’t) and it has a whole infobox as if it were a real town lmao

Screenshot of the french Wikipedia infobox for Donaldville, showing information such as location (Calisota, United States), demonym (Donaldvillois), population (1'300'000), coordinates, date of founding (1579) and date of receiving municipality status (1848), and position on the map.

Hausen is a no longer used word for nameing settlements. It can describe a multiple house village or a hamlet. Houses is plural. The plural of Haus is Häuser.

Used as a verb “hausen” is a derogatory term for living in a chaotic dirty and unclean way.

I thought it was at least named after a Duck, like the McDuck family. But Rosaverse says the founder is called Cornelius Coot and he named it Duckburg for no particular reason.

Side note: Cornelius’ beak looks much more like those of confirmed geese like Gladstone Gander, so I’m not even sure he’s a duck at all.

Second side note: It’s weird that Donald’s family tree is filled with waterfowl of all different species, but no dogs (which seems to be 80% of Duckburg’s population) or other species. Do they have egg groups like Pokemon?

Yeah, it’s nowhere near as fun right now as it usually is, that much is for sure! 😄

I’ve been through much worse, though: my timing was such that I became a Liverpool fan 4 years into the 30 year league title drought!
