Has anything good ever come out of SpaceX? Despite all his other stupidities, I’m under the impression, mainly from reading ars (technica), that this endeavor of his maybe isn’t so bad🚀. Actually, if he had just kept his mouth shut I might still think that he wasn’t such a bad guy.

Although I have no proof, my intuition tells me that he purposefully says controversial things in order to remain in the news cycle. Heck, he may not even be the person that he pretends to be.

The Twitter fiasco is undeniable proof that he’s just an idiot. That much fuckup, commercial, takeover, company, and policy fuckup can’t be intentional or “to stay in the news”.

Does it matter if he says those things honestly, or cynically to stay in the news cycle? An “ironic” alt-right creep is still an alt-right creep. The response should also be the same regardless: ignore the dweeb.

My impression is that they pioneered the reusable rocket concept and greatly reduced the price per kg. for sending material into orbit.

However, I personally think they did that despite having Elon, not because of.

I don’t see why anyone would choose to use these in a business sense. You either have no range, or you fill up your cargo capacity with batteries. It makes no sense when other countries are putting up catenaries on the freeways so that electric trucks can pick up power just like the trains do.
