Jesus Christ, if true, what the holy incompetence.
They are investigating every trail. That’s not incompetence…
but I’m not sure what 2,000 hours in Sea of Thieves is supposed to tell us
Criminally insane.
The evangelicals supporting trump are responsible for the recent mastercard debacle to remove steam games. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start into a new wave “video games cause violence” bullshit.
Also I thought the kid seemed fairly normal but him being a SoT sicko makes me wonder.
Actually heavy investment into SoT could be a sign. This game can nurture some very antisocial behaviour.
His Steam profile has over 100 “Mind Blown!” Awards lmao
You can look up the tweet from the article to get the link to the Steam profile
Mind sharing it here please?
I’d rather not since there was the whole fiasco with the guy buying the shirt the killer wore having the FBI come after him. I found it by searching for the guy’s twitter handle and one of the usernames posted in the screenshot
Motivated by radical pirate ideology confirmed.
I blame Microsoft
Same.
I see. Video games cause violence. Guns had nothing to do with it. Mandatory id, facial scanning, and government reporting on all video game platforms is totally cool and justified. /s
You see, guns in video games, where nobody is hurt, are bad. Guns in reality are good.
It’s a bad example, the gun in this case was good. Would have been great if just aimed 15 cm higher.
Because it’s saying “leftists play video games, rightists play and watch sports” without saying it. Same with the “serially online” thing.
Lol, just check out WoWs general chat to find as many right wingers as you want.
Yeah but that’s not the perception uh people that think they’re offline rightists have.
Would love some MAGA to say this to me. Then I whip their ass in any game or sport they want to play. Gravy Seals can get balled on.
it’s supposed to connect ‘steam’ with ‘extremism’ instead of something like Twitter, Truth, or Fox to coincide with their recent ‘fact finding mission’
Steam is very much connected to extremism. Far right extremisn to be precise.
Take a look at any Steam forum and you’ll see. The reason is because Valve hardly ever hires moderators and delegates responsibility to the developer who created the game the forum is about.
I think German speaking Steam has a total of two global (i.e. paid by Valve) moderators? Not sure where I’ve heard this though.
That’s unexplainable textile mill fires. Steam is connected to unexplainable textile mill fires, not
autismshit video games.Absolutely, here is RFK on Sept 10 saying they cause mass shootings. (Completely ignoring the ENTIRE WORLD OUTSIDE THE US)
https://www.newsweek.com/rfk-video-games-mass-shootings-gun-violence-2127808
Also Congress has called for the leaders of discord, steam, Reddit and twitch to come and testify about extremism.
I don’t see any of the social media heads who donated to Trump’s inaugural on that list.
How did he have time to practice his rifle skills? That’s my question.
Obviously video games train you to be master marksmen, and inject leftist ideology straight into your bloodstream to turn kids into political assassins.
I mean, I met enough shit shots who can’t figure out “if the hole in the paper is lower than where you’re aiming, aim more up” and video games kind of teach that kind of problem solving.
I wish we lived in a time before videogames when there were no political assassinations or mass shootings.
/s <-- do I even need this?
Famous gamer John Wilkes Booth.
Lincoln ruined his killstreak and swatting wouldn’t be invented for three more years, by famous inventor Thomas “I made up the N word” Edison.
Brutus was way better at Halo
Not Fruit Ninja?
wouldnt those graphs look similar though, even if just by coincidence?
If you’re suggesting that political assassinations are more common in modern times, let me introduce you to the Life Details column of the List of Roman Emperors wiki page.
It seems they did need the /s …
I mean, not really, since even its inclusion was ignored XD
I bet he played violent video games, like Among Us
“It is a cruel, evil game that teaches decit and murder. That is why I don’t let you play Clue, son.”
To me what’s stupid is that they found nothing, as most of us would have expected going through a steam account, and yet they are “leaking” this information and what kind of bullshit narrative are they trying to push this time.
Trying to back up RFK’s bullshit, disproven games caused mass shootings BS?
I don’t know that 2000 hours in sea of thieves means he’s incompetent; sure the game can be finished faster but maybe he just really likes it
That’s a shitload of time in a game that has barely any content.
Have you actually played the game lately? In my opinion there is no lack of content
Games are about having a good time. If your idea of a good time is story and completionism, then sure, what a waste of time. Some people just want to vibe, role play, or socialize.
Also some people just leave launchers open and rack up ghost hours unintentionally.
Edit: I’m amused there’s so many reasons for leaving the launcher open I didn’t even think of. Personally, mine was just having a bad habit of playing Elite Dangerous until I fell asleep in the chair. Computer would go to sleep, I’d rack an extra ~16 hours before ei came back. Then I’d remember to check in the morning, cutting it down to like 7 extra hours. I probably have 100-200 racked up from before I got better sleep commitment. 2020 was an interesting time in which time itself didn’t matter for a bit. Rounding 1100 hours now.

I’ve never left the home for an emergency and come home a week later to find geralt on his horse waiting for me to get back

An uncommon case, but I like to suspend the game process so I can get back into the game without wading through loading screens etc. But with Steam at least playtime tracking increases during this time so it seems like I have 100s of hours of playtime.
I remember when idling was the easiest way to get TF2 drops so someone made a map with fire at the spawn to slowly kill idlers.
Anything for hats.
I had eight separate accounts to farm drops. I don’t think it really provided any real value. At one point my backpack was worth over $200, which for a kid with no income was a lot of money. I still have some of my favorite items, even though I haven’t played TF2 in years.
Yup, I have about 2k hours on Destiny because I’d leave the launcher open while it was updating or offline.
We played the fuck out of elite dangerous. Still do, sometimes. But during the pandemic when even the outdoors were largely shut down, and it was snowing sideways… I’m getting close to 1,100 hours too.
This is true. Could have just left the title screen up so he could jump in and save 45 seconds. I never do this personally because I want an accurate hour count.
Now we know for certain that he is suffering from crazy
SoT is as much a chill game as it is competitive or grindy. I’ve probably spent a couple hundred hours in that game just fishing.
The real content is the friends/enemies you make along the way
I mean if you go around trolling PVP you can get a lot of time from very little.
