The evangelicals supporting trump are responsible for the recent mastercard debacle to remove steam games. I wouldn’t be surprised if they start into a new wave “video games cause violence” bullshit.

Also I thought the kid seemed fairly normal but him being a SoT sicko makes me wonder.

Actually heavy investment into SoT could be a sign. This game can nurture some very antisocial behaviour.

You can look up the tweet from the article to get the link to the Steam profile

I’d rather not since there was the whole fiasco with the guy buying the shirt the killer wore having the FBI come after him. I found it by searching for the guy’s twitter handle and one of the usernames posted in the screenshot

I see. Video games cause violence. Guns had nothing to do with it. Mandatory id, facial scanning, and government reporting on all video game platforms is totally cool and justified. /s

You see, guns in video games, where nobody is hurt, are bad. Guns in reality are good.

It’s a bad example, the gun in this case was good. Would have been great if just aimed 15 cm higher.

Because it’s saying “leftists play video games, rightists play and watch sports” without saying it. Same with the “serially online” thing.

it’s supposed to connect ‘steam’ with ‘extremism’ instead of something like Twitter, Truth, or Fox to coincide with their recent ‘fact finding mission’

To me what’s stupid is that they found nothing, as most of us would have expected going through a steam account, and yet they are “leaking” this information and what kind of bullshit narrative are they trying to push this time.

Trying to back up RFK’s bullshit, disproven games caused mass shootings BS?

Games are about having a good time. If your idea of a good time is story and completionism, then sure, what a waste of time. Some people just want to vibe, role play, or socialize.

Also some people just leave launchers open and rack up ghost hours unintentionally.

Edit: I’m amused there’s so many reasons for leaving the launcher open I didn’t even think of. Personally, mine was just having a bad habit of playing Elite Dangerous until I fell asleep in the chair. Computer would go to sleep, I’d rack an extra ~16 hours before ei came back. Then I’d remember to check in the morning, cutting it down to like 7 extra hours. I probably have 100-200 racked up from before I got better sleep commitment. 2020 was an interesting time in which time itself didn’t matter for a bit. Rounding 1100 hours now.

An uncommon case, but I like to suspend the game process so I can get back into the game without wading through loading screens etc. But with Steam at least playtime tracking increases during this time so it seems like I have 100s of hours of playtime.

I remember when idling was the easiest way to get TF2 drops so someone made a map with fire at the spawn to slowly kill idlers.

        Anything for hats.

I had eight separate accounts to farm drops. I don’t think it really provided any real value. At one point my backpack was worth over $200, which for a kid with no income was a lot of money. I still have some of my favorite items, even though I haven’t played TF2 in years.

We played the fuck out of elite dangerous. Still do, sometimes. But during the pandemic when even the outdoors were largely shut down, and it was snowing sideways… I’m getting close to 1,100 hours too.

SoT is as much a chill game as it is competitive or grindy. I’ve probably spent a couple hundred hours in that game just fishing.
