Guinea-Bissau 🇬🇼 – Statement by the “Front Populaire”
"Driven by despair over the electoral results, Mr. Umaro Sissoco Embaló, in collusion with General Biaguê Na N’tam, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, has decided to orchestrate a sham coup d’État, carried out today, 26 November 2025, by militias linked to the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the criminal scheme devised by Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his circle of accomplices, this maneuver seeks to prevent the publication of the electoral results scheduled for tomorrow, 27 November.
Credible information obtained by the Front Populaire reveals that Umaro Sissoco Embaló himself intends to illegitimately appoint a new President of the Republic and an interim Prime Minister for a short transitional period, after which new presidential elections would be organized—elections in which he plans to run again.
One of the most blatant pieces of evidence exposing this disgraceful staging is the fact that Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who claims to be detained by the armed forces, had the time and freedom to give interviews to international media, publicly announcing his alleged “arrest.”
Before executing this criminal plan, Umaro Sissoco Embaló ordered the National Guard to attack the offices of the National Electoral Commission (CNE).
Given the extreme gravity of this situation, the Front Populaire declares the following:
Denounces and firmly condemns this criminal staging orchestrated by Umaro Sissoco Embaló, whose objective is to block the publication of electoral results that would clearly confirm his defeat in the presidential elections of 27 February;
Condemns the complicit attitude of General Biaguê Na N’tam in this criminal conspiracy against the Guinean people, aimed at usurping the sovereign will expressed at the ballot box;
Holds Umaro Sissoco Embaló and General Biaguê Na N’tam fully responsible for the consequences of their irresponsible actions that undermine constitutional order;
Calls on all vital forces of the nation to stand firmly and resolutely against the dictatorial and totalitarian drift of Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his group of criminals;
Holds the international community accountable for its complicit silence in the face of the successive atrocities committed against the Guinean people by Umaro Sissoco Embaló and his bloodthirsty circle."
