- Maxis to Marxist pipeline? - Maxis leads to Praxis

- Oh, you’re a gamer? Name every racial slur - pointy ear, tree hugger, leaf lover, knife-ear - Dwarf Fortress player detected. - almost, but not quite, entirely wrong - I just see Elf-hate and assume you must live under a mountain. Apologies.

- Oh god is he gonna put me on a train that is purposefully designed to make me barf and die
- Only if he also is adding free pubs to the city owned grocer plan.

- We gotta stop him before he spawns a volcano in Central Park.
- Asking for “books” in general for Christmas as an 11 year old? Yeah, this dude has been a turbo-nerd his whole life. And I say that as a former Asian kid who got books for Christmas as an 11-year-old. - as a former Asian kid - Are you a hispanic kid now
- i used to like books at that age - Same. (Actually it was mostly the new, early Terry Prattchet Discworld books back then. But a lot of those have pretty based politics too) (Actually it was mostly the new, early Terry Prattchet Discworld books back then. But a lot of those have pretty based politics too)

- Is it only asking for “books” in general that makes you a turbo-nerd? Tbf I find it weird for an older child to ask for “books” instead of specific books. But I have asked for specific books as gifts my whole childhood… I think when I was like 6-ish I would ask for “books” because I just knew I liked reading but not any specific books. But by that age I was asking for specific books. - Yeah I think it’s weird to just ask for “books” in general lol Like imagine any kid just asking for “video games” like they don’t care whether it’s Tetris or CoD

- He’s going to be the mayor and in his free time he plays a city management game. This is like the pilots who go home and play flight simulator.
- love too get my political analysis from pcgamer dot com - Jeez comrade it’s just a cheeky post and I thought it was funny. - sorry comrade, I’m grumpy and “jokes” are fascist - deleted by creator
- actually i have never smiled so first of all

- I remember reading on this site pcgamer dot com had linked to marxism.org in an article so this is as close to theory as some g*mers are gonna get - Yeah they are not shy of critiquing capitalism and they always turn the comments off for anything that might bring out the hogs.

- Gaming at its best is a kind of dialectical systemic analysis. - How likely is it that he plays Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic? - For real, game development has led to decades of insights from incentivizing player behavior, balancing rule-sets, to cultivating online spaces; and virtually none of those lessons have translated into the political realm.

- I don’t read a lot of games writing because a) most of it is pish and b) there’s too much else to read but I really enjoyed this one. - This bit genuinely made me lol: - Books FIFA 2003 and SimCity 3000 computer games. - Soccer makes me feel empty and I barely know how to read, so the first two mean nothing to me - Yeah neither do I, but the folks at PCgamer and Rock Paper Shotgun are pretty good possibly even comrades. My phone doesn’t get a signal at my desk so when I sit there for long stretches with no sales calls or orders to process I just browse them and watch youtube shit. - It’s a shame really because I’m probably contributing to a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy of not reading games journalism because most of it is bad, therefore not finding the better stuff etc.
- Yeah Rock Paper Shotgun even has a decent comment section at times. Might be my fave site for pc games since it also covers lots of indie stuff

- The most controversial part of this is 3000 isn’t even the best one - Yeah 3000 was kinda shit. - Oops, your power isn’t connected, for no predictable reason. - Oops, the water supply ran out and now that specific pipe just won’t carry water anymore. - No campaigns or real tutorial to learn the ins and outs of this stuff, only sandbox. - Reason for lack of development: Lack of chocolate sprinkles - Motherfucker, give me something I can build an understanding on top of.

run by gamers, for gamers run by gamers, for gamers
- SimCity 3000
- I’m gonna make low income housing for all the gamer words to reduce inequality
- Herman Cain got his political start with SimCity and he turned out okay - Zohran is from Uganda, not uzbeki-beki-bekistan
- Eventually.
