Is it only asking for “books” in general that makes you a turbo-nerd? Tbf I find it weird for an older child to ask for “books” instead of specific books. But I have asked for specific books as gifts my whole childhood… I think when I was like 6-ish I would ask for “books” because I just knew I liked reading but not any specific books. But by that age I was asking for specific books.

Yeah neither do I, but the folks at PCgamer and Rock Paper Shotgun are pretty good possibly even comrades. My phone doesn’t get a signal at my desk so when I sit there for long stretches with no sales calls or orders to process I just browse them and watch youtube shit.
It’s a shame really because I’m probably contributing to a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy of not reading games journalism because most of it is bad, therefore not finding the better stuff etc.
Yeah Rock Paper Shotgun even has a decent comment section at times. Might be my fave site for pc games since it also covers lots of indie stuff
